Quotes/Mottos
"Courage is pointless, in the face of my blaster bolts.' -Ajrick Dalmarhk, just before he gunned down the notorious bounty hunter G'Natle Viance.
Appearance
Dalmarhk has red skin and light tan horns characteristic to his Devaronian lineage. He regularly wears black and silver tinted medium armor with a variety of bandoliers and ammo belts that store explosives and provisions for any scenario. Strapped on the small of his back is a Echani short sword Ajrick was given by his mentor Laron Heniso. Besides the blade Ajrick is usualy seen carrying one heavy blaster of Mandalorian make. He is often seen smoking Corellian cigars.
Early Life
Ajrick began life as an orphan at Devaron. He never knew his parents and instead grew up envious of the family he felt he'd been robbed of. At age 11 compelled by the commom Devaronian urge for exploration he stowed away aboard a spice hauler and made it to Nar Shadda. There he earned the grudging respect of Laron Heniso, a aging gambler and con artists who taught the young Dervish the way of the con. For years the pair scrapped out a fine living from working the richer clientel of Nar Shadda's crime organizations. These time however were not fit to last. At age 14 bounty hunters raided one of the duo's hideouts and Laron was killed in the ensuing firefight while trying to help Ajrick escape.
Working for Omg'dra the Hutt
Eventually the crime bosses that Ajrick had endured the hatred of tracked down the young Devaronian and Ajrick was sold to Omg'dra the Hutt. While working as a enforcer aboard the hutt's space station Omg'dra became intrigued by the young being's talents and began sending him out on collection runs for his organization. Soon Omg'dra allowed Ajrick his freedom on the terms that he continue to work for the hutt untill Omg'dra was satisfied the debt was paid. For four years Jae toiled away as a just another hired gun for the hutt's organization doing work that challenged Ajrick on a daily occurence. Knowing the term could be a horrendous period of time Ajrick hatched a plan to rid himself of Omg'dra and his entire criminal organization. When a representative from the Three Kings Gang arrived aboard the station, Ajrick hijacked their prototype vessel and framed Omg'dra for the the theft claiming he was acting on orders from the hutt. The TKG representative reported the events back to his master and the gang began an all out war on the hutt's holdings on Abridon. Infuriated and embarrased Omg'dra immediately put a bounty of 100,000 credits on Ajrick's head. Interestingly enough a month later Ajrick received a message from the Three Kings Gang thanking him for starting the conflict. The message described how the theft had set events in motion that had benifited the TKG greatly and that they would pay off the bounty Omg'dra had set on him as gratitude. Free from slavery and most of the dangers of the world Ajrick set course for new exploits in his ship the Renegade
The Hunt for Timrow
It's been about 4 months since Ajrick escaped Omg'dra's cage but the young merc has been working hard to make ends meet. Most recently he's joined up with Meshla Runi, Agui Ibid and Colonel Cassus Orailus in hunting for his biggest bounty yet, Hemuit Timrow a runaway republic weapons designer and his team of researchers.
After cashing in on one of Timrow's assitants Mesh'la got word that her husband had been captured after a job had turned bad on Coruscant. Using his newly acquired vessel Raldeh's Strike Ajrick, Mesh'la and the rest of the mercs sped to Coruscant and then to Korriban with the newly acquired information. Sadly it turned out their her husband had been tortured by the sith and he died soon after the rescue although from the rescue the mercs did manage to save E'han Varid and a few other mandos from the fates that the sith planned for them. As they left the sith homeworld they were on their way back to Nar Shadda. Unfortunately a sith had hidden a bomb aboard Ajrick's craft the Raldeh's Strike. When the bomb detonated it disabled the Strike and cause the group to crash on Jabiim.
Crashed Amongst the Mud
After a crash landing on Jabiim Ajrick and the rest of the mercs found themselves entangled in a slave attack on the native population of Jabiim by an assortment of trandoshan slavers. Fighting against the slave raiders the mercs eventually saved a young child from the slavers and Mesh'la adopted the child as her own since his parents had been killed at the hands of the slavers. With help from Jabiim royalists forces the mercs were able to get their ship repaired and they were once more free to move amongst the stars.
Trouble at Telerath
On Telerath the group built up their strength and found legitiment work on Telerath. They served various jobs such as corporate bodyguards, security consultants and other occupations that were offered to them. Eventually however they were pitted in a misison against their newest rival, a Gen'dai named Kor. Kor worked as a merc for much of his long life and he eneded up being matched up against Jae and the mercs on Telerath. While playing protection detail on a yacht they Kor tried to take a shot at destroying the noblemen who owned the yaght. A fight erupted aboard the ship and while the mercs were able to keep the noblemen safe several of the crew and passengers were caught in the crossfire.
Suffice to say the mercs decided to call it a quits on the banking planet and even though they secured Kor he was not to be held for long. Breaking out of the prison the noble set up for him he brutally took out the noblemen and his protection detail and then took off after the Mercs.
Galim Station Return
Seeking refuge and work after the debacle at Telerath the mercs ended up returning to Galim station where they had originally recieved the job to hunt for Timrow. Kor was not far off of course and even as they recieved a mission from a kiffar to reaquire a important personal item the Gen'dai was set against them. In one of Jae's more elaborate plans he had E'han and Mesh'la enter into a lavish party while Jae and the rest of the group entered via the vents in a surprise assault. While the plan caught Kor by surprise he had enough of the local gangs working with him that the mercs were hard pressed to complete their assignment. Jae managed to retrieve their objective but their kiffar employer betrayed the group. With a quick blast from a heavy pistol the kiffar left Jae for dead and left the station bound for Manaan.
After serving a bit of time in a bacta tank Jae was glad to see Mesh'la and the others waiting for him. Kor made one more attempt to intercede with the mercs but to their surprise he asked to join up with the group. Needless to say the other mercs weren't in a very hospitable mood and after E'han implanted the Karatos Plague in Kor and shoved him into an escape pod the mercs meet up with Jae and then departed once more.
The Renegade
Ajrick's pride and joy since he 'aquired' it from the Three Kings Gang the Renegade has been with Ajrick ever since. Becuase of the ship's experimental nature it took Ajrick some time to really get an good feel for the ship becuase of having to get used to advanced systems. The Renegade has limited cargo space but a very powerful shield generator that has allowed for more than a few fights to bend in Ajrick's favor when he needed them to. Unfortunatley to pay of a string of finacial debts from failed missions Ajrick attempted to bolster his money by participating in a string of gambling tournaments. The young Devaronian lost big and ended up loosing pretty much everything from his weaponry to his favorite ship.
The Renegade currently is locked away in a storage dock on Corellia.
The "Raldeh's Strike"
Jae and the mercs secured the KDY All Purpose Frieghtor during one of their missions and the vessel has stayed with them ever since. While the vessel requires constant work to keep it in tip top shape Jae is more than willing to put in the work to keep his ship afloat and ready to help the mercs out in a pinch.
Personality
With his friends he can be carefree and sarcastic even though he'd lay down his life or the lives of others to help his true friends. However when it's clear to him that you've become his enemy, he has no patience for those who get in his way.
Skills and Attributes
Ajrick prides himself on being a cool and calculating being in battle. He also knows a great deal of tech engineering specificaly with starships and stock frieghtors. These skills have made him an invaluable tool in many mercenary organizations throughout his career.
Languages
Ajrick can speak fluent Dervish although he rarely meets another devaronian. He reads and writes basic, and has attempted to start learning Mando from several associates.
OOC Information and Acknowledgements
I'd like to acknowledge the artist Mercy on a suberp piece of art that has Jae investigating his soon to be ship.
On an OOC note I'd be lying if I said that Jae's overall character design wasn't a little influenced by the prequel series character Villie. But I will say that I have gone to lengths to make a character that while he shares influences to a character I've liked, strikes out on a much different path.
