Description:
"I wondered once why one should suffer so much...yet through all of it, I found my true path."
-Araden
Appearance:
The biggest feature of Araden that is always caught immediately even from afar is his height. Few people reach his height, being able to tower over others easily. To compliment his height are light eyes that seem to pierce right through you when you meet his gaze. Simple blue robes are wrapped around him completed with a cowl pulled down hiding most of his stone cold face.
A lean and forbidding face is covered in no facial hair a bushy red brow barely seen under the shadow of his cowl. When seen, his hair is of a simple cut…short and messy.
Distinctive Marks:
The only notable mark on his body is buried deep under his robes on his wide chest. A black burn mark is seared into his skin that will never recovery made to be by a deadly attack he suffered early in his life.
Skills/Attributes:
Living most of his life a swordsman, his skills with a blade are considerable. Another skill Araden possesses is his intellect. Studying much of histories and lore his knowledge has also grown to be vast to a degree. While only just recently figuring out he was to become a Jedi, Araden's skill in the Force has to be improved.
Equipment/Apparel:
Araden wears only simple blue Jedi Garb supplied by the temple loosly tied around his waist under a hooded cloak.
Personality:
Having much experience in life Araden is gifted with being considerably wise and intelligent. He is an extremely dark character however due to recent events in which some come to avoid him, but do not realize that a warm heart is settled in deep under the black. Araden leaves the impression of being a very weathered man, even being as young as he is.
He is a gruff young man, and one of few words unless they are needed. Araden does believe in the Force, but also believing that every life has its purpose and eventually one will come to fulfill it.
Araden is not quick to temper and never lets his anger out of control, he is always shielded by a non penetrable patience.
Relationships:
While he always treasures his relationship with his first mother, he has come to love his adoptive parents just as much, still crushed by the death of his father and separation of his adoptive mother and siblings.
Beliefs:
Goals and Ambitions:
Having recently been introduced to the Order, Araden's main goal is to become an apprentice and begin to learn the ways of a Jedi.

History:
Early Life:
Araden Ravenlock was birthed by his mother, Shirl Ravenlock on the planet of Onderon. His father, Ander Ravenlock had passed away some years beforehand due to a deadly illness. Araden was raised under his single parent, and for a long time lived what would be considered a normal and prosperous life. His family held considerable wealth, he was a decent student in school, and most of all he never found himself in any kind of trouble. However as young Araden was the age of twelve his mother also been diagnosed with a fatal illness, which turns out she was fighting a considerable amount of time. It was not long before the sickness took his mother, and Araden was alone in the world.
Taken into adoption services Ravenlock managed to find a new family living in the capital of Iziz. A noble family, due to the father’s work as an ambassador for the queen. Araden had fallen into a terrible depression that left him weak and unmotivated in life…still not understanding why his mother was taken away from him. Continuing living the life of a normal child, he spent years as a quiet and lonely boy seldom doing anything interesting.
While his new parents cared for him as they would their own, they began to grow concerned at Araden’s state of mind, worried that his depression could lead to worse things. There was one thing his adopted parents saw sparked some interest in him…swordsmanship. For some reason fifteen year old Ravenlock enjoyed watching the palace guards spar, or watching arena duels over the holonet. Hoping to help the young man his family enrolled him in a local training class. Nervous, having been living in a shell for years Araden did go through with taking weekly courses, which soon turned daily as over the months he rose to the top of his class. The instructor was impressed, as well as a friend of his…a strange man hidden under the shadow of his conical hat. He sat most days wrapped in his robes observing the class. As time went on Araden began pushing through the shell of his former self and was becoming his own person. Personality, joyfulness, and purpose was put back into his life and he changed to nearly a different person altogether. By the time he was eighteen he became an assistant instructor to his class and a good friend of the teacher. He had been off to various tournaments and spars, mostly coming out victorious. His relationship with his family grew stronger, to which they were extremely pleased.
While his father was away on Coruscant for political business Araden was away on another tournament, competing for regional champion in swordplay. The match however was interrupted by an emergency broadcast of an invasion on Coruscant. Panic erupted from some and other remained to see and listen to the events unfold. When word of a small Sith force entering the planet’s atmosphere was heard more panic ensured and Araden raced to get home to the rest of his family. Finding his way through dense crowds and fleeing people Araden managed to return to Iziz and found his family right where he left them. Relieved to see his adoptive mother there, he was worried about the state she was in. Through a deep sadness she explained to Araden that the Senate Chambers on Coruscant were destroyed, while his adoptive father was within it’s halls.
Araden began to panic realizing it was all happening again and vowed to protect his mother at all costs. He gathered his younger siblings and raced to the transport hangars where shuttles where taking civilians away. A special shuttle had been prepared for the Ambassador’s wife and family, which they made to in enough time. The capital was being attacked now, ships landing and massive conflict spread throughout the city. The planet’s military struggled to keep the assault force at bay but where failing. Taking notice Araden stepped on the shuttle…then slowly stepped off, shutting the door and signaling to pilot to take off immediately. As it took off he could barely hear the desperate pleas and cries from his mother to stop the ship, but it took off and was safely away from the battle.
Taking his katana, Tsumujikaze, with him he joined the fight along with the military force, militia, and various citizens to drive back the Sith task force. His sword skills availed him for some time, but it was not long before he found himself at the edge of a red blade.
A Sith stood before him, and had injured him by a small burning strike to his left arm. Determined to not have his planet be taken over by the scum that killed his father he fought using every skill, every technique and every shred of might he had. In the end he was on the ground with more injuries. He had managed to batter up the Sith Apprentice a little leaving him tortured more by the dark user’s powers. Luckily the mysterious stranger from his dojo appeared, out from the shadows, his yellow lightsaber gleaming.
He disposed of the Sith Apprentice and came to the aid of Araden, practically dragging him by the collar of his shirt to gather his morale and go with him. The straw hat still sat upon his head and robes flew has they ran for cover from the battle. At this point it was obvious to Araden that the mysterious fellow was indeed a Jedi. After a few words were exchanged the Jedi warrior told Araden there was nothing left he could do, and that he must leave. As reinforcements arrived from a small branch of Republic Marines and a strike team of more Jedi appeared Araden’s savior escorted him to a ship and had him rest in the medical bay of the ship while they fled from the planet and its deadly conflict.
When Araden’s wounds were treated and a good amount of rest was had he came awake still in the medical bay, apparently out cold for a day. The Jedi had come and checked on him several times and was beside his bed when Araden awoke. When Araden questioned about the Jedi’s identity the other replied it was not important and immediately continued to tell the boy about the Force. Confused about the Jedi’s speech he had made the connections, and realized what was happening. With one weakened finger he pointed to himself, and the other replied “Yes.” He continued to explain how he was watching Araden through most of his life, after he had picked up his force connection. Fearing that taking him away for Jedi training would throw Araden into a worse depression, he waited until the time was right. He also explained how that bully in his swordsman class when he was younger mysteriously “tripped” after picking on Araden.
All coming too fast to him, Araden had rested for a few more days…finally strong enough to overcome his injuries and begin to understand more of his situation. He was brought up to speed about the sacking of the galaxies capital planet, the destruction of the Jedi Temple, and the Senate which brought pain to Araden’s heart.
The Jedi had finally revealed himself as Arion Tay, a roaming Jedi Sentinel. He informed Araden that he was being taken to Tython, the first home of the ancient Jedi to reconstruct a temple there. At their arrival Arion had brought him before the current council in which his fate as training as a Jedi was being decided…
