Marik Kaz grew up in a Mandalorian outpost on Onderon's moon Dxun. Ever since Marik was old enough to hold a sword the Mandalorians had taught him their culture and fighting techniques. Marik was always better than his peers and often went hunting for dangerous creatures in the dense jungle. He always felt like something was different about himself from the others and when he was eighteen standard years old his parents told him that they were not his real parents and that they had found him when they were scouring the galaxy looking for Mandalorians to join their clan. As they searched the most remote and forsaken planets they crash-landed on a relatively unknown and forgotten world named Korriban. They found him when they were searching for supplies to repair their ship; a loud scream erupted from a tomb nearby filling the Mandalorians' mind's with fear of being trapped on that desolate world forever, it pierced the air and after a seconds hesitation their warrior instincts took over and they ran to where the sound had eminated from. They found Marik lying on a stone tablet, a big foreboding smirk on his face, with a man in dark clothes laying on the floor below him dead. They told Marik that the man had a dagger in his grasp, was covering his ears, and had a frozen look of horror on his face. After Marik found out the truth of his origins it is relatively unknown what happened for the next few years, but it is rumored that he went to find out who that man was and why he had tried to kill him as a baby.
