Biography

Early Life

Galen Soran's life is much of a mystery. He was found in the wreckage of a Mandalorian Transport ship in the Deep Core. The people that found him was a Senatorial Vessel from the planet Naboo returning after a meeting in the Senate. Galen was brought back to Naboo and was raised by the Senators, until they found out that he had an unnatural talent with the Force. He was taken to Taris to the Jedi Temple to do training to allow him to control his considerable powers.

Life in the Temple

Galen lived in the Temple, rarely returning back to his adoptive home. He regularly saw his parents on HoloNet news and thought very highly of his parents.

The Senate Incident

Galen was once brought to the Senate building on a trip with other Jedi Younglings. While there, a Force-Using Sith Assassin was out to kill an Ambassador from a planet who wished to rejoin the Republic. Galen found the force user and dueled him, only armed with a weak training lightsaber. The fight soon made it into the Senate himself, where Galen used the Force to manipulate the different objects in the large room. Galen then defeated the Dark Side Adept soon after, the Jedi soon arrived and found the Sith Lord unconscious at his feet. Many Senators and politicians accused Galen of destroying Republic Property, but many others said that he was a hero, Galen returned to the Temple with many of his teachers questioning his apparent "hasty" actions.

The Sacking of Coruscant

Only days after Galen completed his training with the Jedi. The Imperial Fleet launched a full-out offensive on the helpless planet of Coruscant. Galen was one of the few "Jedi" on the planet. He helped defend the planet and get refugees off. He fought his way to the temple to see if the remaining Jedi needed any help, and as he looked upon his home, he saw it crumble, with Darth Malgus coming out of the Temple's main enterance. Galen then gave into his anger and attacked Malgus. For most of the duel, the two seemed evenly matched, but Galen was blinded by his hate and soon forgot much of what his instructors taught, and Malgus soon gained the upper hand. He hurt Galen badly with two hits to his left leg and right arm, and a near fatal swipe across his back. (Medics later said that only a cm more and Galen's spinal chord would have been cut, and would have left him defenseless to Malgus' lightsaber.) Galen soon retreated from the duel, sad and bitter. Malgus was laughing at him, and Galen vowed the the next time he saw Malgus, he would kill him.

Escaping Coruscant

Galen them found a group of civilians, and hardwired a prototype to the __________-class Troop Transport (which ironically became his standard starship) and took them to the closest Republic base he could find.

After the Sacking

After the Treaty of Coruscant was signed, Galen returned to the planet with the rest of the refugees, to find his home burning and destroyed. Galen spent months helping with minor reconstruction of the planet, and helped families try and return to the life they once knew.

Mid-Life

Leaving the Jedi

Galen officially left the Jedi after the Treaty was signed. He continued to work to rebuild Coruscant. The Jedi continually asked him to join the Jedi, but he refused. Many Jedi believed it was because it was out of spite, or pride. In reality, he left because he blamed the destruction of the Temple on himself. When Galen had helped all he could, he bought his own ship and became a Mercenary for hire to any Republic planet the wanted, or needed him.

Joining the Clan

Galen found a group of mercenaries by the name of Clan 31 under hire for the Republic, Galen rose up the ranks quite quickly even though he was young. Galen soon specialized in Spec Ops and covert missions, but also participated in several large battles. Galen met another young Jedi, [[Jezebel 69]. The two became good friends and worked together several times.

Leading the Clan

Galen then became the commander of Clan 31, unlike his predecessor, Galen was a lot more active in the field, leading missions and fighting the Sith in several large engagements and gaining the Republic's respect as a skilled tactitian. There are only a couple instances for there being any coups against Galen. The most successful was that of HK-53. Who was foiled none other than Jezebel 69. Galen then made her in command of the Hand.

Skirmishes

Galen and Clan 31 became active in the later border skirmishes, though there are no notable battles, Clan 31 has been able to hold it's own against it's Sith enemies. Their most notable engagement was the Raid of the Seven Suns, where they battled Sith Forces in the Monicon system, a rare system with 7 suns in it. Galen was continually a front-line commander of the Cold War, stopping many people from reigniting the War and keeping the Sith from conquering planets. He continually showed himself to be an excellent strategist and Leader to the Clan, and Republic forces.

Relinquishing Command

Years after the 2nd Republic-Sith War, Galen relinquished his command of the CLan to Jezebel 69, and joined the Jedi Order. He decided that he was getting too old for the lifestyle of the Clan. Since Galen had already done years of training in the Order, and facing more than his fair share of the Trails, Galen was immediately put as a Jedi Knight, and he soon took his first Padawan.

Later Life

Years with the Jedi

Galen lived peacefully in the Order, rather than doing fierce missions. He decided to become an instructor, his skills in combat were not unnoticed and he was soon put back on the front lines many times. Though in his youth he enjoyed combat, after the war he hated to kill, even if it was necessary. Galen continued to use his style of fighting for many years, hunting down the last of the Sith Lords. Many thought that he had killed the last of the Sith, making many people think he was the Chosen One, though Galen believed that he was just a precursor. Galen was the oldest person ever to join the Jedi.

Death

Galen died at 240 years old, the 2nd longest living Jedi in history. He survived by using a form of Force Healing to keep his body in fit condition, along with powers such as Force Valor to compensate for his age. The last 10 years he took his 7th and final Padawan, whom he had the closest relationship to. In the Last 5 years, he spent much of his free time recording his life, skills, and information on the War in a set of 7 holocrons, each one on a different subject. He died surrounded by his surviving Padawans and friends, his body disappeared after he died.

Legacy

Galen's Legacy stretched 240 years of one of the most gifted Jedi of all time, a man who lived for war turned in to a man of peace. Though he only had 7 Padawans, he had a part in the training of almost every youngling after he joined the Jedi. Galen was remembered through his holocrons, 3 of them were found in the Jedi Temple on Coroscaunt, and the remaining two are suspected on being in the ruins of the Temple on Tython. Though by the Clone wars and the waning days of the Republic he was forgotten, after his Holocrons were found he was considered to be one of the greatest Jedi who ever lived, and a prime example on how the Jedi helped protect the Republic. Galen was again forgotten to time after Darth Krayt destroyed the Jedi Temple on Ossus, but the few who still remembered him knew him as a great Jedi, and protector of the Old Republic.

Equipment

Lightsabers

First

Galen's First lightsaber is crude and meant for battle, not style. It's internals are easily seen from the outside, Galen still uses it from time to time, mainly if he needs an extra saber. It usually sits on his desk in his office onboard the Acquisition.

Second

Galen uses a double-bladed Sith design lightsaber as his primary weapon. It can detach to form 2 lightsabers of stay as one. It is straight, similar to Exar Kun, but has qualities similar. to Assaj Ventress. It has a Gold blade and is a Kibuur crystal. Galen uses the force to increase it's properties, making his lightsaber one of the most powerful in the Galaxy. It has been know to "break" Sith lightsabers, which has never been seen by any other Jedi. It's emmiter guards are made of Cortosis, enabling it to be protected from other lightsabers.

Third

Galen also has a shoto lightsaber with a black blade, and a crystal called darkheart. The blade is extremely powerful and almost equals his main in power even in force-enhancement.

Other Weapons

Blaster

Galen's blaster is modified form it's original template, and looks nothing like what it was when he first got it. It has a Magnetic hookshot, and can be modified to fire explosives. He later sold it to the Naboo Royal house, and they have used a version of it ever since.

Phrik Vibro-Sword

Though it is expirimental, it is the first of it's kind to help th army of the Republic to fight the Sith Empire. It is easier to make and produse and does not have to be very complex, it's only drawback is the rarity of phrik, making them expensive to produce. The Republic gave the design for one to Galen, and allowed him to modify it and make his own, though origionally a two-bladed swrod, Galen turned it into a Falchion, making it faster to cut, it has an expirimental batttery pack which enables it be be on for 1-2 day straight, he can also recharge the battery through the force.

Maldorian Armor

Galen has modified Maldoian armor that can seal itself with the push of a button, allowing him to survive in space for extended periods. It also can withstand extreme heat and pressure, also, it is equipped with a container of pressurized air, so Galen can survive on most worlds.

Combat

Skills

Galen was a skilled lightsaber duelist and Assassin. Galen used his force powers to Assassinate targets without being seen or heard by anyone, he used these skills usually when sneaking into enemy bases and killing the commanding officers to help his forces win. Galen was also a skilled marksmen with the blaster, he commonly used a Sniper Rifle in battle to support his troops. All of these skills makes Galen a very tough enemy on the battlefield, allowing him to do almost any role in combat. Galen also was considered to be one of the best pilots in the Republic, currently with a recorded 20 kills in a starfighter, with many more attributed to him in the SWATH

Lightsaber Style

Galen is a self-taught master of Juyo and Jar'Kai, the most trying and powerful lightsaber techniques, he also knows Niman, Shien, Ataru, Soresu, and Shii-Cho, though, amazingly, he is not good at Makashi. Galen can go into "bezzerk" mode and uses both dark and light side moves to beat his opponents. Galen has a faster, almost uncontrollable form of lightsaber combat. He is considered by many to be a master and uses his forms of Jar'Kai quite effectively. He also changes from 2 lightsaber into one in a matter of a couple seconds, and can easily fight several enemies at once. Galen also uses the force to enhance his strength considerably.

Powers

Galen has many powers under his command, both good, and dark. He also has shown the ability to regenerate lost body parts through the force. He also can rebuild droids, use weapons to see visions of the past, and destroy anything with only his will. In one of his earliest missions, Galen was fighting a Sith army nearly 3 times their own attakc force, with only a limited amount of ammo, streanth, and will, Galen unleashed a wave of what was supposed to be force lightning, but came out as streaks of pure energy that went through, and killed all of the opposing force, making him a hero. The power has only been seen once, but a seemingly different version was used by Jacen Solo, instead of coming out his hands, it came out from his entire body. The power has since been named, Force Purge.

Powers Used

• Force Barrier; Creates a powerful shield around himself, able to introduce lightning to make it more powerful.
• Force Concealment; Mastered, able to hide himself from the force, also he can bend light rays to make himself invisible.
• Force Lightning; Mastered, able to make shields of lightning and homing balls of lightning at targets, used mainly against biological enemies, but also used to overload droid systems.
• Mind Trick

• Force Bellow ; Mastered, rarely used as an offensive power
• Force Healing ; Limited, able to heal most smaller wounds, including blaster burns and minor physical damage, including broken bones, ripped tissue, etc.
• Force Destruction; Proficient , able to inflict critical damage on one, or many opponents.
• Force Slow limited, able to tomporarily slow down an opponent, similar to Monichiro
• Force Insanity; Proficient, able to show alll fear, bad memories, and other bad things to incapacitate person.
• Force Valor

Personality

Galen was a very conflicting person to the people who knew him. At times, he was happy, and other he would just sit, looking out the window with a very sad looking face. Galen retained many traits of his Mandalorian heritage, including the belief that battle helped improve himself. Galen also had his own code of honor, it was a mix between the Jedi, Mandalorian, and Sith beliefs, signifying his belief that no one is fully right. Many people saw Galen in different ways, a criminal, a genius, an enemy, a friend. Everybody in the Sith Empire and Galactic Republic had an opinion on Galen. Galen also liked to stay close to his "home" on Coruscant, specifically near the ruins to the Temple. He said that it Helped him "remember what he was fighting for, even though it is painful to look at." Galen also enjoyed being alone for extended periods of time, often locking himself in his quarters for days upon end, though at other times he enjoyed the company of others, he said that he "never truly understood them." Many people claimed that Galen was very similar to Revan, who also had a different perspective on the force, if that is good or bad, is unknown. Galen also seems to have a bit of a bloodlust, often associated with his Mandalorian heritage.

Droids

Galen owns several droids, and each serves aboard his ship as a crew member.

Basilisk War-Droid

Galen's personal mount he rides into battle and has made a special cargo bay to hold it. It has a special holocron memory bank covered in phrik

T-3 Utility Droid

T3-4B is Galen's primary ship specialist. Outfitted with advanced software cracking well, software, 4B is Galen's "right hand droid" and is his unofficial co-pilot. Their bond started when Galen saved him from the melter.

C5-23

Galen's self-made protocol droid, it accompanies him to planets as his primary backup and translator. C5-23 has a cortosis body and a secret blaster hidden in both arms, he also has a secret lightsaber compartment in it's chest and has been programmed to use it if needed..

Other Droids

Galen owns 2 other T3 droids used to repair the ship and man the guns via plug-in ports. They both have been upgraded to more military needs, mainly the installment of small blasters.

Starships

SWATH

Galen has a ship called the SWATH, it is larger, and more powerful, than most starships. It has a class 1 hyperdrive and it's hull can absorb sensors. It also can do the Kessel run in 2 parsecs, the best time of any "civilian" ship. It's sensors are the best in the galaxy, enabling him to see across a system. The SWATH also is the C31 flagship.
