History
Early Life
Humble Beginnings
Gep Korr was born on Dorin to an average mother and father who owned a shop near the Baran Do temple. One day, when he was about 4, he kept going on about an intense storm coming. His mother and father, thinking it was just a young child's ramblings, paid him no attention. This caught the attention of a Baran Do sage who was heading back to the temple. He also felt the stirrings in the force and knew that the child was probably force sensitive. Interested in training the boy, he approached the man and his wife and asked that young Gep be brought by the temple sometime. The father declined and said that the boy would grow up to take over the family business (also not believing anything about his force potential.) Later that day, out of the blue, a huge storm came and tore down much of the city in its' wake. Realizing now that the boy did have force potential, he decided what to do. The father, wanting to do what he thought was best as any father would, decided instead of giving the boy over to the Sages, he would take him to the Jedi Temple where he could have fame and glory. When he took Gep to the Jedi, he was tested and admitted into the order.
Finding his place in the Order
The Jedi immediately took him to Coruscant to start his training at the main temple. He had been there for two years when Coruscant was attacked by the Sith. Gep, like all the younglings, were rushed off the world and sent to Tython. After Gep moved to Tython, he trained within the academy wall for about a year and a half. At this point he was sent to the council. He was afraid he was in trouble for some reason but the reason was completely different. The council had suggested he go to an orbiting moon of Tython to study with a new enclave. They were just starting up and were being led by another Kel Dor. The council felt that Gep might blossom socially there and come out of his shell. Gep, hoping for a fresh start and interested to learn under another Kel Dor, decided to go to the moon and become a part of the Knights of Sokan.
First Mission as a Youngling
After being with the Knights of Sokan for only a short time, Gep heard of a mission that Master Solemor was conducting that was free for anyone to join. Gep was only about 8 at the time, but he still want to go. It was a negotiation mission to Anchorhead, Tatooine. Gep desperately wanted to go since he hadn't been on a mission at any of the temples he had been at. He rushed through the halls immediately since he didn't need anything, and hopped aboard the Bilon. He was shown to his quarters and met his bunkmate, a boy named Jareth, who wasn't much older than Gep. He decided to take a nap, as the excitement was wearing off from getting to go on a trip.
What he woke up to next was not what he expected. Sirens were going off and lights were flashing. Master Solemor informed everyone over the speaker that they were about to crash-land into the Tatooine desert. Gep knew he had to think quick and plant himself so he wasn't hurt in the crash. He asked Jareth what he thought, but Jareth said he had no ideas. Finally, Gep figured out what to do. He knew he had to be in as small a place possible as not to bounce around too much. He chose the closet. He and Jareth grabbed as many blankets and pillows possible and even a mattress and place them in the closet. Getting in the closet, Jareth and Gep grabbed ahold of anything they could fine to barricade themselves down. After that, all they could do was wait. One minute they were staring at each other, nervously waiting, and next, everything was black. Gep awoke with many cuts and bruises and a very soar left arm. Although his body was mostly in good shape, Jareth didn't seem so lucky. Gep could tell he was alive through his very small Force abilities but not much more. He knew he had to get help for Jareth and fast. He bolted out of the closet running down the decks of the Bilon as fast as possible. As he rounded another corner looking for someone, he came upon Master Flux. Running so fast, he tripped when he tried to come to a stop. On all knees, he relayed the problem to Master Flux, and he helped get the other youngling to some medical help. Master Flux was very proud of Gep and put him in charge of watching out for Jareth on the rest of the mission.
Teen Years and Padawanship
Becoming a Padawan
Although most younglings were chosen around the age of 13 to become a padawan to a master, this was not the case for Gep. His thirteenth year came and left with no Master wanting to take him. He knew that the Knights of Sokan were short on Knights and Masters at the time but he was still saddened that no one was interested. This experience just pushed Gep deeper into his studies and his efforts were doubled to try and become the best Jedi he could be. About six months before his 15th birthday in the year of 8 ATC, he had a meeting with Master Flux. The council member was wise and suggested to Gep that his talents might be best served in the Jedi Corps. Gep knew that the people in the Jedi Corps were good workers and did good deeds but he knew the Force was willing him to become a Jedi Knight. He told Master Flux of this and the council member told him that if he had seen it in the Force, then he should trust his vision.
A few months passed and right after his 15th birthday, in the year of 9 ATC, a younger Jedi Knight, Sacre Ven, approached him and told him that she needed to speak with him. Fearing for the worst, he agreed and tried to recall anything he had done wrong in his classes from the last few weeks. When he got to Sacre's quarters, he was completely surprised to hear different news. Sacre asked if Gep would become her padawan. As he did with most choices, he told Sacre he would meditate on it and have an answer by the end of the day. He knew he had to think this choice over but he could still not control the excitement that he felt.
He meditated for the rest of the day trying to figure out the best course of action. He could not see a con to becoming her padawan and the force did not guide him to say no. He came back late that afternoon and gave her the news. She said she was pleased to hear it and knew that it would be beneficial for both the master and padawan. The next day was their joining ceremony and from then on out, they were inseparable.
First Mission as a Padawan
Only a little bit into their training, Sacre already received a mission for the pair that was crucial for the Republic. They were to go to Asrat and stop the Sith from learning the secrets to using the Force to farm better and maybe even learn them for the republic. There were monks there that had very low level Force powers who could use it to create better crops. The last convent that the monks were in was high in the mountains. They had retreated there because of the proxy wars going on around the planet. They prepared immediately for the cold weather and the journey in general and left later that night.
Once they got there, they soon met Darth Solanaceae and his apprentice, Darth Luxolis. They both sometimes went by a shortened name, Darth Sol and Darth Lux respectively. Gep figured that Darth Sol was a middle aged man, although it was always hard to tell with the corrupting powers of the dark side. Darth Lux was about Gep's age. They were civil to each other and agreed it would be better to hike the last leg of the treachorous journey together.
When they reached the top of the mountain, they were greeted by the monks. They invited them in and agreed to hear both of their arguments. All four of the makeshift group ate with the monks. They listened to stories about growing and nurturing their plants. During the time so far on the planet, Gep had noticed something about Darth Lux. He could not quite put his finger on it but felt she did not truly believe in the Sith. Gep talked to her a little bit about it trying to free her of her bonds but she would certainly not budge that easily. As if it just flowed out of him, Gep told a story to the monks at lunch. It was true but it was more importantly an allegory for how Darth Lux's life was going. He could tell it had shaken her a little but she was still not going to be moved to change her opinions that easily.
After lunch, the brothers shared their plans for the two pairs. They would compete in a contest to see who they would share the secrets with. The contest was to grow a bonsai and shape it to make it looks its best. As Sacre and Gep stood to choose which type of Bonsai they wanted they evaluated both kinds. One kind was very hard to grow. It grew on a rock and not in a dirt bed. It would be harder to grow it but also more rewarding in the end. When Gep stepped up to the table, he had on his mind that he would choose the one planted in dirt. However, the Force would not will it. No matter how hard he tried to reason in himself and against the Force, it insisted that he grow the one that grew on a rock. He finally decided to not fight it since a Jedi flows with the current of the Force, not against it. He knew it would be difficult. Gep was ready for the challenge though. After him Sacre chose her plant, which was the one planted in dirt. Like the Jedi, the Sith followed the same pattern. Darth Lux chose the one grown on a rock and Darth Sol chose the dirt bed bonsai.
The competition began that day. The first day was by far the hardest for Gep it took him nearly a day straight of work to get his to grow right. He could not get it to sit on the rock right. In a stroke of genius, he wrapped the roots in a plastic sheet and cauterized the two sheets ends together. This way the roots could push through to the underside of the rock, but it wasn't so hard that they would die. After the first incident his plant took of wonderfully. Growing more and more everyday. Darth Lux did not have the same luck. No matter how much effort she put into the bonsai, it would not grow. Gep could see that these plants were dependant on the attitude and way of life that each of the gardeners had. He could see that just like Darth Lux was dieing more and more from submitting to the Sith way, her plant was dieing more and more each day. Gep tried to reason with her and explain to her that she had to turn back from the road she was on and come back to the light. Whenever she would make any progress and seem to come around, she would then just fall back to her old attitudes.
One day, after a couple months into the growing process, Gep and Lux were learning from the Monks about their fighting style. The monk asked them how a Jedi and Sith fought. Both padawans tried to answer as best they could. They decided the best way to show it was duel. They squared off in the dueling circle. After going back and forth for awhile it was very apparent that they were about evenly matched. Lux gained the upper hand by pushing Gep down and bearing her saber down on him. They were in a lock and the blades were getting close to Gep, about to tag him out. At the last second though, Gep brought up his leg and kicked Lux over the top of him. She fell outside the circle and the duel was over. The monks clapped but then Lux was on Gep again. He told her the duel was over but she just kept coming. Finally, she backed off and yelled at him. Mad, she stormed off. Gep did not understand why she was mad. It was a fair duel and she had only barely lost.
The two did not talk to each other for the rest of the time up until the final unveiling. What was starting to form into an odd friendship had now withered away. The day had come and everyone showed their plants. Sadly, Lux's had died. She had put everything into it but it wasn't enough because of the way she was. Everyone was at the celebration afterwards congratulating each other. Gep noticed that Lux was in the corner. He knew he had to give it one last shot to try and talk to her and make her see the light. He approached her and she blew him off at first. He knew she would and then he gave his best plea that he could.
"You don't have to say anything if you don't want. I just wanted to say that I enjoyed the time we spent with each other. I know you might not have but I did and I would be happy to call you a friend any day. I know I've gone on and on about the lightside and darkside and changing so I won't say anything about that. I just wanted to ask you a couple things and you don't even have to answer me outloud. Think back on all the time that we hung out and shared over these months and search deep down on if it was a good or bad time. Listen to what your feelings tell you about the time. Also, did your master help you at all or give you any insight on the Bonsai over the course of these months. The only people that I've seen help you with it is myself and some of the other brothers around here. Last, I just want to say that even though you seem set on the Sith way listen to your own heart. I'm not saying it is telling you to be a Jedi or to go to the lightside, but I can sense the turmoil in you and I know you can to. If the Sith way was such the right way for you, would that turmoil still be there. Search me ten times over, and you will find no turmoil in the path I have chosen for myself. Either way, I will still call you a friend and think about you always."
With that said, he handed her a locket with a picture of himself smiling, holding his bonsai. He also bid her farewell and told her that if she changed her mind and wanted to come with them, they would be waiting at the entrance of the Temple.
Sacre and Gep waited and waited but sadly, she never showed. They left the same way they had come up and boarded the ship back to Caamas. During the flight, Gep was saddened by the fact that he had not saved the Sith. Through a conversation with his Master, he came to realize a very important lesson. All Gep could do as a Jedi was what he thought was right and give it everything he had. If he still failed, then he could not have any regret. He accepted this lesson and vowed to not have regrets anymore as long as there was not a reason to.
Capture of a Sith
Later on into the year 9 ATC, Sacre and Gep were called to perform another mission for the Republic. They and Jair were supposed to meet up with many other Jedi Masters, Knights, and Padawans and capture a Sith Master that was hiding on a Republic world that had just been fought over. The Sith Master was left by the other Sith and he was going to be picked up in ten days. The group had to get there and stop that.
In the ship, on the way to the planet, Gep met many other Jedi and in particular, Master Starlance. He was the Battlemaster for the whole order and a very strong Jedi. He taught them a couple lessons about how to utilize different Force techniques and their lightsaber in battle. After the lessons, it was time to practice dueling. Gep was paired against Kira Navarro, a promising Padawan who specialized in healing.
The two clashed with Gep trying to use his strength to outmatch her. Kira's Force skills were very good though and she threw thing after thing at Gep and he could not get close. Gep also hurled things through her at the Force. Finally, he saw his opening and got close enough to execute the Djem So Star, taught to him by his friend Kael Myec. When he executed it, Kira could not follow the quick movements of the move and Gep was able to hit her with the training saber. The other Jedi saluted both contestants and then they went back and sat down. The next two days went pretty much the same as the first. Many different Jedi Masters and Knights taught the Padawans different aspects of the Jedi way. All in all it was a very productive flight to the planet. When the Jedi got there and set down, they immediately got to work trying to sense the Sith Master in the city. He was in hiding and they could not find him even though they had some of the best Sensers in the order. They needed a new plan and Master Starlance came up with just that. They would wait for the Sith to leave the city to rendevous with his rescue shuttle. When he did, they would swarm him and capture him.
The day came and just as Starlance had predicted, the Sith's speeder set out for the shuttle. The Jedi came up behind him with all their speeders and it turned into a race for the shuttle. Out of the shuttle poured numerous Sith. A brawl emerged. Most of the Jedi were fighting the Sith Master and the other Sith Warriors. Gep, being put in charge of driving one of the speeders, tried to make a break for the Sith ship to disable it. As he was making his way there, Darth Lux landed onto the back of the speeder. Gep had to fight her with one hand while he steered with the other. Lux sliced through the engine and the speeder came to a halt. Gep and Lux both jumped out and started arguing. Gep tried to convince her again that she should join the light. As she started to argue back, he pushed her away through the Force and set off for the Sith ship. She ran after him and caught him right before he boarded. An intense battle insued where neither let up. Gep could not get on board that ship, so he dedicated his full focus to defeating Lux. After a little while, all the Sith caught up to the ship and jumped aboard. Lux tried to jump over Gep to get on board but missed the ramp as it was taking off and fell hard on her leg. All the Jedi surrounded her and she was captured. Gep decided he would try redeeming her again. He put all his persuasion into getting her to stop supporting the Sith. Finally, his point came across and she let her hate fall away. Lux was saved. The Jedi took her back to the ship and left the planet, heading back for Caamas. Lux was to be trained by Seija. As soon as they got back to the KoS enclave, all the other Jedi split up, going their own ways. Seija and Lex (short for Alexandria, her new name) left to study on Myrkr. With everyone gone, Sacre, Jair, and Gep retreated to their quarters and resumed their normal lives and Gep's studies.
Knighthood
The Rift Enclave
Sith intelligence has re-discovered a long forgotten Jedi Enclave that holds many dangerous secrets; as well as Jedi/Sith Holocrons that contain information about forgotten Force powers. A republic spy who had infiltrated the Sith Empire, has contacted The Jedi High Council with the potentially calamitous news. Unable to take immediate action themselves, the Jedi High Council has requested aid from the Knights of Sokan.
Answering this request, Jedi Battlemaster Noon Flux gathers some of the Knights of Sokan's more reputable Jedi Knights and Padawans; each benefiting from a skill that the others lack in. Among them were Jedi Sentinel Aeir Lunaren and his Consular Padawan Kazjin Carth, Jedi Guardian Torin Darmax, Jedi Guardian Sacre, Jedi Guardian Gep Korr, and Jedi Guardian Seth Cosi. Once everyone is gathered, they load up on a ship and leave Caamas following the star map the Jedi High Council gave them to follow; leading them deep into the unknown regions of the galaxy.
Once at the location known as the “Jedi Rift Enclave” the Jedi disembark off the ship, and gather together for their mission briefing. Laying out the details to them (informing them that they are in search of three prisoners that the Sith had taken, as well as in search of the Enclaves main computer), Master Flux also informs them of the present Sith threat, and that the Jedi High Council wishes that they neutralize them. Once finished, he leaves the group to do some quick reconnaissance on the planet before they set out.
It is not long before the senses of the Jedi begin to tingle at the taint radiating from the Darkside that permeates this place. Above them they can hear the humming of repulsorlifts coming from a massive starship that is passing over them. Over the com-link the group receives a message from Master Flux, telling them to move out and he will join up with them along the way.
Moving into a passage way that leads to the Enclaves grounds, the group finds themselves teleported to a bridge and is immediately attacked by two Sith Warriors; being among the best in KoS, the Jedi make short work of them. Unfortunately the group is forced to split into two teams; Team One included Aeir, Kazjin, and Torin going west; while Team Two has Sacre, Seth, and Gep Kor going east. Immediately after departing each other, both groups meet opposition on either side of the bridge; the Sith knew they were there, and were not willing to give this place up.
As time passes Jedi Battlemaster Noon Flux meets up with Team One, outside of the Main Computer room’s doorway. Aeir, ever alert and feeling out with his senses, informs his fellows of the Sith Warriors who are guarding the main computers within; taking a moment to prepare themselves mentally, the Jedi burst through the door, and into battle with the Sith Warriors. While on the other side of the Enclave, Sacre begins leading the three ever downward towards the prison; while both Gep and Seth put up a strong fight in keeping the unending flow of Sith forces back.
Back in the computer room, both Aeir and Kazjin having momentarily fallen back, Torin fights on brilliantly and finishes off the last of the three Sith, and reports the room cleared to the others. Moving into the cleared room, Noon begins to download the information from the computers onto three Datapads; and orders Team One to move out, and relocate with Team Two. The three immediately set out to find their allies, and find them minutes later fighting a large group of Sith. Jumping into the melee, the now combined group takes out the group of Sith swiftly and expertly.
Now together, the group moves deeper into the Enclave in search of the Republic Prisoners; Noon catching up with them along the way, and propelling them down in the correct direction. They meet some resistance along the way, but with Aeir and Kazjin’s combined knowledge of the Force, the Sith are easily swatted off the narrow bridges and out of the groups path; and they finally make it to the prison cells.
Upon entering Sacre, Seth, and Torin immediately dispatch the Sith threat within; revealing both the cells computer consuls and the Prisoners. Advising them to split up one last time Noon takes off ahead of the group to make sure they will not encounter any normal Sith threat along the way. Now split the groups take the prisoners, and make it safely back to the ship.
Once at the ship, Kazjin jumps into the pilot seat pilot seat and begins making preparation for takeoff. While the others are surprised outside of the ship, by an enraged Darth Glaive; who had come seeking redemption for his Sith forces. Arrogantly leaping at the five of them, he strikes out at Gep and Seth only to have his strikes easily deflected. Rethinking his strategy he leads the group into a narrow cove, and viciously fights back; swing wildly, he manages to wound Sacre who is forced back to the ship. Gep, seeing his former Master get injured, leaps into the fray and finishes Darth Glaive off with a well executed counter that only a Master of Djem So could pull off. Done with the Sith Lord, the group runs back to the ship and immediate take off; finding both Noon and Kazjin in the cockpit.
Once back in the ship Noon gives them a full debriefing, and informing them of the Missions success as well as their next target, Ando Prime; the planet where the Sith have been taking the artifacts.
Appearance
Physical
Gep is tall and thin but fairly muscular. Because of the physicalness of Djem So, he has become physically strong along with his strength in the Force. He has silver eyes like most Force Sensitive Kel Dor. He wears goggles and a breather like the rest of his kind but he has found the smallest of both that he could find. He almost always wears a traditional Jedi robe that is a plain brown. However, his Jedi tunic is a little bit more flashy. He wears an emerald tunic that matches the color of his lightsaber blade.
Lightsaber
Gep's lightsaber is slightly longer than most so that he can use both hands on the hilt when necessary. It is a solid metal casing with rubber rings at the bottom for better grip. The emitter is set above the casing and is a rust color. The hilt houses a Corusca Gem as its focusing crystal. This special crystal allows the blade to be extra strong. It also gives the blade its emerald color.
