Haysh Paraphrased

Haysh is an Ithorian male who tries be a congenial character on most occasions. In his sixty-four years roaming this galaxy he's spent time working with the Jedi for the Republic and the Dark Jedi for the Sith and he's acted out every profession one can imagine. He's gone by a hundred different names but he thinks of himself as the pseudonym that a couple of his Mandalorian companions named him, Hayc Waadas, "Honest Credits". Haysh spent the last twenty-four years orchestrating short and long cons and gambling away his wealth with a barrel of alcohol and a mountain of slick at his side. Haysh doesn't lavish himself with extravagant goods; all he buys is the gear he needs and the utilitarian necessities for his cons and, of course, supplies his addictions. He lives in a one-bedroom apartment in Lower Coruscant. He never goes out of his way for romance but also never turns it down; for friendship, he makes an exception.

(64 - 39 BTC) Genesis

In 64 BTC, Haysh and his brother were born to a pair of Ithorian activists, successful peace and prosperity protesters operating in the core of the Republic, Coruscant. When Haysh, then named Lodo Habas, was five and his brother, Lobo Habas, was eight their parents were murdered. Attempting to send a message to the entire score of activists by killing some of their more prominent leaders, Czerka incorrectly assumed that this would end the pervasive nuisance of the peace protesters. Lodo and Lobo were not the only ones orphaned by Czerka's crimes and those without homes were given asylum by other members of the cause. A Togruta healer named Aaysha took the Ithorian boys in. Aaysha treated those in need without expense, her healing gifts came from some vector of the living Force, but no typical source, she never had any training as a Jedi. Watching Lodo and Lobo, Aaysha could sense the raw power that both of the Itorian boys possessed and saw an opportunity for the order of anti-war activists to have a pair of heroes, torch-bearers of her movement, but Aaysha's guidance alone would not be sufficient. After teaching the young Ithorians her power, to call upon the earth and spirits of good around them and turn it into beneficial healing energy, Aaysha decided to let Lodo and Lobo begin training as Jedi. Haysh didn't want to stay on Coruscant, the constant reminder of his parents' death--of the brothers, Haysh was the only one who witnessed their murder--were too much for him. Aaysha had plans to take Haysh to Ijaa, an old friend and mentor of hers. And Lobo would be going to the Jedi Academy where he could stay on Coruscant.

On this worn-out cargo ship of supplies destined for Ennth, Haysh and Aaysha took their only option in finding Master Ijaa. Aaysh knew the name of his village, Anchorage, but had never come to visit him. It had been thirty-three years since she last heard from him, but as far as she knew he stil was living on Ennth. The captain of the ship knew of the village. "Newest Anchorage you mean? Sure, that's on our route. Squeeze in and we'll get you there just fine!" The captain had playfully offered and Aaysha had gratefully accepted.

Haysh had never left Coruscant before; for the first eight years of his life, he never had a reason to. He did enjoy growing up on Coruscant; there were so many children to play with and all from different backgrounds. He knew nothing of this other planet would be like, he only knew that it was in the Outer Rim and that those planets are a shame to the Core worlds. The flight lasted hours and the ship had nothing resembling comfort. When the captain announced that their next stop was Anchorage Haysh was actually happy to hear it. Like all of the other villages he had seen on Ennth so far, it wasn't large and all of its buildings and huts looked like they could be taken apart in a mere few hours--much different than the skyscrapers he was used to. As Haysh and Aaysha disembarked the ship, Haysh was underwhelmed by the sight of his surroundings. But there was something more that he could only feel. He'd felt it as they'd entered the atmosphere. It was like nothing he'd ever felt before but still familiar.

Aaysha noticed Haysh's expression, "Do you feel that, Lodo?" She asked. Pondering, "I didn't know if you would."

"What is it?" Lodo begged.

Aaysha acquiesced, "Come, I'll show you."

He was a foot and a half shorter than Haysh, possibly the smallest intelligent species Haysh had ever come across, but, intelligent, he was certainly that. His name was Ijaa and he was the source of the power Haysh could feel on this planet.

Within the worldwide cityscape on Coruscant, Haysh had never been able to notice power like this, even with the combined forces of the council he couldn't sense something quite like this. It simply blended with bustle of Galactic City. But here it was so vibrant. And most of it came from Ijaa.

Ijaa is a member of what would later be known as Yoda's Species, the teacher in a small village on Ennth. Newest Anchorage, the village to which Ijaa acted as an instructor, was filled with about two thousand settlers and was one of the few villages dispersed around Ennth's surface. Why anyone chose to repeatedly colonize this global bantha cooker was anyone's guess. The village adored Ijaa, looked to him more as a deity than a teacher. The children, especially, looked up to him, idolized him.

Aaysha understood their worship. When Aaysha was growing up Ijaa was a Jedi Knight, thought too unconventional to be granted the title of Master. Back then, a few decades before Haysh's arrival at Anchorage, Ijaa became one of Aaysha's heroes and, for a time, almost like a part of her family. Aaysha's mother was a member of Galactic Senate and Ijaa was her friend and Jedi advisor. Ijaa was an ardent advocate for social change and was largely the motivator for Aaysha's rally for the cause throughout her life.

“Pardon me, ma'am, but is Ijaa still here?” Aaysha asked the young woman next to the town fountain.

“Of course, he's in the school, over there.” She said, pointing to the most substantial building in the town square. That title isn't very prestigious though, it still had the same minimalistic architecture as all of the other buildings. “Is there anything I can help you with?”

“No, thanks, we're just old friends of Ijaa. Have a good day, miss.” Aaysha bowed respectfully and began to go on her way.

“Always do!” The girl sincerely chirped.

Entering the town hall, Aaysha spoke to the assistant, “Hello..Ellanorr, we're here to speak to Ijaa. Is he in?”

“Hmmm...Aaysha, I'd presume? He said you might come, he didn't know when, though. He's in class right now but he should be done in about ten minutes, if you wouldn't mind waiting, I'll send you right in.” Ellanorr explained.

When Aaysha was a child, Ijaa would wow her and all of her young compatriots with miraculous illusions and mind games. His magic was frowned upon by the Jedi because it wasn't magic that they condoned and taught to their students taught that not everything was black and white. There was more than the Jedi, he knew. But there was more to learn with them than without them. Aaysha knew that when she saw him again if he performed any of his tricks they would still mesmerize her. Ijaa first showed her where she drew her power from, the far reaches of the force. Unconventional and unique, but with many uses of their own.

"Ijaa!" Aaysha shouted when the little man entered the room

Ijaa laughed, "Hahaha, hello Aaysha, it's been far too long."

"Of course it has! It's so good to see you, Ijaa." Aaysha let out with a child's smile on her face.

Ijaa turned his gaze towards Haysh. "And who is your friend?"

"This is Lodo, Lodo Habas, he's my excuse for coming to find you." Aaysha began to calm down.

"You never need an excuse to come find me, Aaysha. So tell me, why is he your excuse?" Ijaa wondered.

"I believe you already know, Ijaa. I brought him here because I hoped you could teach him, teach him to do even a millionth of what you know and you'll be doing a favor for him for life."

Ijaa didn't even didn't even consider it for a second. "I think this is the only substantial thing you've ever asked of me, Aaysha, and after all of these years you come all the way to Ennth to ask me. Of course I'll help the boy out; you know that teaching all of this is one of my main goals in this life. My children have a comparable ability with the force but not the same as Lodo's here. I've felt your coming for weeks. He can stay with us as long as he'd like, we have plenty of supplies here in Anchorage. You remember Glora " Ijaa paused and stopped and flagged down one of the young men walking through the halls. "Excuse me, Nathan, would you mind taking these two back to my residence?"

"Of course, Ijaa." Nathan responded with a bow. And walked over to the pair. "Hello, come with me, please, uh..what were your names?"

"My name's Aaysha and this is Lodo. Nathan is it?" Aaysha gave a courteous smile. "It's good to meet you."

As they were walking down the makeshift street, Nathan started conversing with the off-worlders, "So, are you staying with Ijaa long?"

"Well, I'll only be staying a couple days," Aaysha answered, "But Lodo here may be staying with him for a while."

It wasn't long until they reached Ijaa's estate, where Haysh would spend the next seventeen years of his life.

It was like Haysh had a new home and a new family. Ijaa's biological children became Haysh's friends, almost brothers and Ijaa and Glora both became meaningful mentors. Haysh had a childhood and an adolescence akin to any other in a small community. He had deep relations with individuals of both sexes and varied species and races. He was less rebellious than the stereotypical teenager but what did he have to rebel against? Almost anything with the limits practical reality was permitted within the limits of Anchorage. There was a wealth of alcohol, spices and narcotics--it was truly impressive that the ships had room for any other imports--and everyone who wanted to was allowed to partake.

Ijaa was Jedi Master Vandar's nephew. Born at the end of the Jedi Civil War and raised around the first Jedi purge, Ijaa's father was a historian and an archaeologist. As such, when he was obliterated at Katarr, Vandar left his artifacts and other informative items to Ijaa's father who in turn, after his death, left them to Ijaa. Among these was Aleema's holocron, created after her own lessons through Sith magic, sharing the secrets to crafting illusions of an enormous magnitude. With this, a few other writings and his training, Ijaa raised Haysh and taught him everything he could about the force.

But, when he had learned everything that Ijaa could offer he decided to return to Coruscant because a part of him missed his brother and Galactic City, and there was so much more to discover than Anchorage could give him. He left Ijaa and his family's peaceful life behind, knowing he would see him again soon.

(39 BTC) The First Con

When Haysh arrived in Coruscant in Elona he had no home, no idea how to reach his brother and next to no credits. He only had the tools that Ijaa taught him, a deck of cards, and his lightstaff. But tricks Ijaa had shown him since he was a young Ithorian, tricks he had perfected over years, gave him an idea of how to start and survive his new life.

Most people that were adept in utilizing the force in their advantage put themself in a world-changing position. But Haysh's upbringing had taught him that it is the little things that matter, a simple life with the forbidden goal of Jedi of all alignments, personal gain. Everyone in the galaxy was too caught up in saving it or destroying it. Haysh wanted to be the one who simply lived in it.

He started with card tricks and other simple illusions and mind tricks, fleecing credit change off the credulous mass of Republic City. Cons never as simple as merely influencing an unsuspecting person to give Haysh their well-earned credits, but cons that always had the same result.

And he started with glitterstim. Glitterstim's categorized as a gateway drug because there are so many more serious narcotics that are created using the spice. And, eventually, Haysh used them all. The drug that he truly gain an affinity for, not only an addiction to, was slick. He didn't often need the mental boosts provided with glitterstim and tempest, and slick just provided him with a happier outlook on life. But during these months this proved to be an expensive habit.

And he started with small bets on Pazaak and the arena and the swoops. He eventually found a new underground game called Sabacc that was sweeping the gambling sphere of Lower Coruscant. In those years before the Great War it was a thriving time for all other life, the greatest warriors only found work in the Arena and the best pilots on the swoop track, so it made for great betting. But during these months this often turned out be another costly activity.

But eventually Haysh realized that he couldn't always live on these stipends, so he began preparing for his real life.

(39 - 36 BTC) The Good Con

The young Habas set out to accomplish one the goals he had set for himself leaving Anchorage, finding his brother. Finding out where a Jedi was proved easy with his close proximity to the Jedi Temple. Haysh simply spoke one the Knights working at a monitor, told him that Lobo was his brother and he learned that his brother was still in the City of Spires. Lobo Habas was now a Jedi advisor and guardian to Senator Oothbek Charat, an Ithorian and the representation for the Ithor and Ottega sector of the Galaxy. Oothbek lead a campaign that Lodo and Lobo's birth parents would have encouraged.

Opting out of meeting him at the Senator's office, Haysh decided to wait for his brother to return to the apartment that Lobo appeared to be renting. While waiting, Haysh employed one of his low-tech operations and created two young illusionary Ithorian children and sat and sat at the side of a pedestrian walkway. It wasn't a very profitable operation but being destitute, believe or not, is more enjoyable than being bored.

When Lobo came home, Haysh gave him the time to situate himself before ascending to see him. After a few minutes, Haysh was on the sixty-eighth floor ringing the intercom to his brother's apartment.

Lobo was happy to see his brother Lodo and likewise Lodo, Lobo. They exchanged stories from their past seventeen years and how they differed from the years they spent together.

The brothers began exchanging lessons they'd learn over the years. Haysh was happy with this arrangement because Lobo had learned a few techniques that Ijaa never taught Lodo. Time went by and eventually Lobo let Haysh live with him in his apartment. Sometimes Haysh would come meet Lobo at his work, Aaysha was also one of the senator's consultants, giving the boys a chance to see the woman who took care of them so many years ago.

This set-up went on for about three years. Haysh occasionally submitted to his various addictions, gambling, drinking and using, but it was much more controlled at this stage. Haysh still did all of his cons and tricks in order to gain enough credits to pull off his next accomplishment.

(36 - 28 BTC) The College Con

In the eight years leading up the Great War Haysh performed the long confidence trick that he had been quietly orchestrating over the past four years, he enrolled in the University of Coruscant. He didn't officially enroll in the University, though, because that would have been carried with it the exorbitant tuition fees that he could never afford. So while he was learning the teachings and philosophies of the Jedi, and while he was a street vagrant, Haysh was readying the circumstances needed for him to finish the classes necessary for his actual high profiting ideas for long confidence tricks later in his life. Paying for a slicer, with the funds that he was able to accrue from his place in the cess of society, Haysh was able to be signed up for whatever class he wanted at Coruscant University without having to pay entrance expenses.

Among the industries that Haysh became certified in were Music, Law, Medicine and Criminal Justice. Haysh could have received these degrees instantly without any necessity for actual education from his slicer friend, but he knew that these classes had invaluable information for his future. These certifications, however, were all awarded to the numerous fallacious aliases that Haysh had created in his mind since he was a child.

As Haysh's education began winding down, another chain of events began disrupting the galaxy. The year 28 BTC in the republic galaxy saw the Great Sith Empire, an empire thought destroyed a thousand and three hundred years previous, invading the galaxy. Haysh, on the other hand, saw this event only as an opportunity for himself, so Haysh stole a ship and headed for Sith space.

(28 – 24 BTC) The Bad Con

Haysh met the Sith in Wild Space. There, the Sith sensed his power and enrolled him in training to be come a Sith Lord. Haysh never graduated to becoming a Sith Lord nor any Sith of note, only a student, but he did find that the Sith had much more to teach them than any Jedi could.

His life as a Dark Jedi apprentice among the Sith in their section of the galaxy wasn't primarily a single-layered story so there isn't much point in chronicling his some four odd years with them. Albeit to say that Haysh made some interesting friends and learned some riveting things. But all that boiled down to a will to destroy the Republic, which he never shared, there was more to gain from living in and taking advantage of the Galactic Republic.

(24 BTC - Present) The Long Con

Back on Coruscant, Haysh had the whole world in front of him, the whole galaxy, but he didn't know for sure where to start. Haysh was tired of playing the hero or the villain. He just wanted to be himself. An ordinary citizen with exceptional abilities. Just like he did when he first left Ijaa and Anchorage. He'd gotten what he needed out of the Sith and the Jedi and that was an understanding of their culture and experiencing some of their power. But his interests now lay in the life he enjoyed

A Jedi's life was one without earthly goods and living as a Sith he never was never much more than a fledgling. Ergo, Haysh had to start from scratch. Haysh didn't want much, though, just a comfortable life and some friends to enjoy it with.

The Comfortable Life

First, Haysh sold the ship that he had used to return to Coruscant. The ship earned him enough credits to get a small apartment in Lower Coruscant. He started with quick cons and small pots, enticing his patrons by affecting their minds and merely using his illusions to create sleights of hand for card tricks. In gambling, his visions would sometimes help him know when to bet high or low or, on some nights, not at all. During these months he only earned enough to survive, using different pseudonyms varying from day-to-day.

It wasn't until he started operating long cons that Haysh came into any real income to speak of. He called it "The Law Con". It wasn't necessarily even a confidence trick, Haysh simply used his abilities in a job he wasn't necessarily qualified for. He operated out of the ultra-successful law firm, Vowo, Lotto and Vrerr. He tricked the secretaries, the associates, the partners, the clients and, of course, the courts. He conned the clients into paying him directly and none of the employees of the firm realized that they were paying for the expenses of working cases that brought the firm absolutely no income. And the only thing it cost Haysh was the uniform he needed to fit into the building and courts and a few forged identicards and databanks. Haysh continued this scam until he had earned enough for his next fraud.

He posed as an entrepreneur, a general contractor who had recently built a building in Galactic City and was looking to sell it to other business ventures and business men that were interested. "The Skyscraper Scheme", he called it. Some of Haysh's friends from Vowo, Lotto and Vrerr helped him draft the datacards that would very closely clone the deeds for the buildings themselves, based on the actual copy Haysh had received from Laurence Quelude, Malin York, Torrence Nalice and a number of other actual entrepreneurs. It wasn't always a reliable operation that occasionally ended in bnbloodshed but when it worked, it was a big pay out and helped him fund the next trick.

This operation, similar to "The Law Con", wasn't really a con but a business venture, Haysh took a part time job at a less than reputable medical facility where he became a healer of some renown with his ability to heal individuals using the force--a skill he had perfected with really every Master he had had in his life. He called these times that he worked with the clinic "The Life Lessons". It was one of the few things in his life that he didn't do for credits.

It was a quick and simple con for the actual duration of gaining the mark's confidence, but preparation for the deal was costly in expenses and time. He and a wealthy smuggler, an acquaintance Haysh had made from playing pazaak around the city, took old ships and made them look like famous upgraded smuggling or combat vessels so that they would yield larger funds from wealthy crime lords and historians. Among these were replicas of the Tawny Crusader, the ship of the famous Republic fighter pilot, Evann Tibbs; the Ebon Hawk, the famous smugglers' ship that was once the fastest ship in the galaxy and belonged to Revan and, allegedly, the Jedi Exile, Haysh's partner was smart enough to know that most people weren't smart enough to know the true whereabouts of the ship; and The Craft Elusive the ship that led the infamous convoy that broke the Mandalorian blockade. This transaction eventually gained Haysh's characters some influential enemies but it was a quick enough trick that he usually got away before any real damage was done.

On another job, he portrayed an activist, much like his parents had so many years ago. "The Prosper Project" was a simple con that he could have been doing since he started. He simply acquired donations for a sham activist group. Nominally funding a non-profit organization that helped with everything ranging from curing disease to bringing order to the galaxy, the scam had contributers funding wealth into a number of credit accounts he had set up or in basic hand-to-hand transactions.

On another 'vocation' con, Haysh became the manager of Luey Satorze an imaginary Ortolan musician playing the Nalargon. Luey was accompanied by three Bith musicians, and three signature twi'lek dancers, all illusionary. They became The Luey Threes.

There was an Ithorian Senator that was dark red and so had a resemblance to Haysh. Haysh utilized this similarity to his advantage in a variety of confidence tricks over the years. The Senator's name was Raupau Terrno and he represented the Ithor and Ottega System of the galaxy from 13 BTC to 7 BTC. One of the ways Haysh used this similarity was to act like Raupau at fund raising events of which the Senator was to be a patron and convince lobbyists to funnel money into a faulty bank account. Scams like this were short-lived though because of the unavoidable credit trail of bank accounts.

Haysh's most fiscally tasking prospect was his ruse to receive a portion of the nobles' wealth. With some help from Fuze, Haysh created the facade and visage of a noble in himself. He convinced some of the nobles in the outer rim, as well as closer to the core, to join a separatist movement. Much more clandestine than the organization on Ord Mantell, Haysh's groups ploy was subterfuge. Striking back at the Republic and Sith from the dark. Haysh earned himself hefty sums of credits and the noble's barely even noticed its exodus.

On occasion, with the right incentive, Haysh would offer his services as a mercenary. Most often working with acquaintances he had met elsewhere that needed or just wanted some more company in the vocation.

The various fake Investigator credentials that Haysh possessed gave him access to a multitude of resources that he used. He used these resources to create fake identities for his various other needs, and then, when he needed, mark those characters as deceased. To clear one of his friends' names and often implicate one of his enemies. Haysh even used these resources to commit black mail and extortion in a number of forms, but always targeted those of wealth.

Masquerading as a Jedi Master Haysh could procure valuable artifacts and force crystals from the Jedi under the guise of transporting them to another Jedi facility. There was another Ithorian Jedi master who had similar skin pigments to Haysh, allowing Haysh to enter the museum in the first place and, if necessary, send a communication before he arrived.

Returning to his years as a Sith Lord Haysh cons lesser Dark Jedi into doing his bidding under the front that he will teach them mystical powers, mind tricks and illusions, if they do the tasks that he lays out. Most often fulfilling a bounty or another sort of contract, in completing these tasks, earning the right to control great power, the pitiful Sith didn't realize that mind tricks and illusion were being used on them. Haysh would usually use these pawns for high profile assassinations or an infiltration and theft mission. Upon finishing

These are just a selection of the confidence tricks Haysh orchestrated in the fifteen or so years since he started an independent order of his own. These examples earned Haysh enough to live an extravagant life but his compulsive gambling, drinking and drugging lost him enough to just make it a comfortable life.

Some Friends

Haysh purposefully normally walked around exuding a sense of well-being. People were normally happier around him so people were happy to be around him. During his shams he gained many temporary alliances with people who turned into enemies with remarkable alacrity. But when he was himself--or something close to it--he gained many fast friends. In using public space travel and ship-jumping to get around he saw and met many random people and eventually became friends with a lot of them. A few of them he still knows and is friends with to this day. Lanny Weck and Pan Cathir, a pair of Sullustans who owned the Pale Crusader, often give Haysh a lift when they're in his area. One of his friends from business, cards and bars, Fuze Macoy, gives Haysh a ride on The Radiant Ruby and formerly on The Ravishing Ruby. The Black Butchers, Ne'tra Kar'ta and Aruetii, worked with Haysh on a lot of mercenary work and, if they weren't busy murdering people, were always willing to give Haysh a ride wherever he needed to go. Ty Wamn ran an illegitimate transport service for less than reputable travelers looking for passage to distant worlds.

Never successful enough at gambling to make any sort of name for himself, he made a point of not doing so, Haysh earned very few enemies in his gambling. He also never lost enough to be laugh along the circuits. He tried to stay just above even. He never used a real name and no one ever payed enough attention to Ithorians to remember his name if he didn't want them to. But, besides staying inconspicuous, Haysh made most of his friends gambling. His best friend and often business partner, Fuza 'Fuze' Macoy, The New Champ--whose real name no one was able to learn, like Haysh's--and Theo Faren. He also played cards a lot with his friends from other categories, the Black Butchers and Master Ijaa to name a couple.

A few of Haysh's friend from his past still persisted to the present days, of course, he was still friends with his brother but he didn't seem him that often because he was reassigned as watchman to the entire Ithor and Ottega sector. Haysh still visited Master Ijaa and his family on Ennth often and every eight years he helped Ijaa build a new Anchorage. There were many aspects of being a Sith that Haysh enjoyed and so he still had a few friends among the Sith, Darth Pyrus, Mila Kudnow, Darth Vera and Vance Edna whom he contacted for drinks or jobs every so often. Haysh had a great number of friends in his college years, but he only keeps up with a one or two of them, most have gone on to bigger and better things.

His ventures into the arts of law, medicine, music and investigation gained him some enemies, sure, but he also found a few friends among his marks. As anyone does in a workplace, Haysh became friends with those who believed he was their consort. And, eventually, they trusted him without his having to lie, much. Haysh makes sure to keep in touch with them even when he's not trying to fool them somehow.

With largely an apathetic personality, Haysh certainly isn't a hopeless romantic. That isn't to say that he hasn't had his share of intimate relationships in his sixty-four year life. There was Noana an Ithorian Jedi that Haysh met while 'apprenticing' with his brother, their relationship was and has never been physical but they care deeply for each other, a breach of Noana's persistent Jedi code that persists to this day. With the Sith everyone had flings but romance was never a consideration. In his years living by himself he's had three significant relationships one with Aailiah, a secretary from Vowo, Lotto and Vrerr, a secret relationship with Tommas Vrerr from the aforementioned, and the other with Phatelle, a dancer at one of the clubs that Haysh frequents for his many pass times and music gigs.

The Present

Haysh still runs frequent cons, a mixed bag of his previous successful tricks and a couple new ideas he's working on. Mingled in with his excessive gambling, alcohol and drug use, Haysh still manages to find time to see his friends as often as he can. He still lives in the same apartment that he has for the last twenty-two years and he still doesn't have a ship of his own.

Quotes

There is no luck, there is only the force. So... Want to try your luck?

Good to meet you, I'm Dr. Boone. What ails you? I'm here to help.

You've never seen me.

Hello, as I'm sure my receptionist informed you, my name is Vacill Coordry and I'm here to win your case.

The pleasure's all mine, I have an offer for you.

Common Conception

At first glance, some people are worried by Haysh's blood red complexion but only the few who resist his mind manipulation, making most people comfortable and trusting at his introduction or very presence. If someone's not a friend of Haysh, they likely know him by a name he'll never use again and if someone is his friend they likely know him by a name that only they know. Haysh has never been famous or notorious for any reason but some of his characters are still wanted on several worlds.

Personality

Not only his characters, but Haysh himself is a nice guy. He doesn't like cheating people out of their fortunes but he tries to only target those who deserve it and those who can stand to lose it. Haysh does enjoy many facets of his work, though, helping those in need as a healer and occasionally being able to bring some justice to the galaxy as an investigator and a lawyer. Haysh cares for his friends and enjoys the time he spends with them. His drinking and spicing change his behavior sometimes, but not necessarily in a negative way, some would say that it just shows his true self. Even as a Jedi Haysh was an alcoholic so naturally he continues that. Gambling he pick up heavily until he left the Sith but he plays every chance he gets. He does, however, enjoy all of these addictions, taxing as they may be.

Languages

Haysh only learns the languages that he's interested in because the ones he knows tend to suffice for his business transactions.

  • Galactic Basic: Of course he speaks Galactic Basic fluently, although with the average Ithorian accent. All of his business is handled in Galactic Basic so he is able to converse well with members of virtually any species. He finds that in most cases people are more susceptible when they feel more comfortable with him and what he is saying.
  • Mando'a: One of the languages that Haysh learned so that he could converse with some of his friends. Since his name was from the Mando'a, "Honest Credits", he felt it obligatory to learn some of this language.
  • Shyriiwook: Another language Haysh learned so that he could understand his companion, Ne'tra Kar'ta, because he was unable to speak Basic and Haysh didn't want to leave him out of the loop.
  • Sullustese: The other language Haysh learned so that he could understand his Sullustan companions who often didn't speak Basic.
  • Ithorese: Haysh has spoken Ithorese since birth and continues to speak, often for one of his covers. He used it most frequently when talking to his brother and now uses it talking to any other member of his species. Of the languages that Haysh knows this is the most beautiful.

Abilities

Haysh's proficiency with the living force gives him access to a myriad of powers but the abilities he uses most are also the skills at which he is most gifted, Mind Tricks and Illusions. Sometimes he uses his gifts to entertain children or other harmless citizens with fanciful tall tales but most often he uses them as a tool to aid the tangible assets he uses to deceive his plentiful marks.

His ability with the lightsaber is lacking beyond deflecting blaster fire because he is so out of shape. He is able to do a few defensive maneuvers but only enough to give him time to produce an attack using the force.

Equipment

Haysh rarely wears all of this gear predominantly intended for combat, normally outfitted to stage some stratagem, but when he needs it this equipment certainly has its advantages.

Haysh always follows a philosophy that will later be coined as Form "Zero", often never resorting to lightsaber combat. That doesn't mean that he doesn't still keep his trusty lightsaber staff with him wherever he goes, almost always not drawing attention as anything other than a walking stick. Modifications were mostly intended to improve his connection to the force. His lack of substantial strength prohibits him from being truly effective with the weapon. Although he is familiar with a few different lightsaber forms, he lacks proficiency at employing them because of his lack of experience using them in actual combat.

Baran Do Sage Robes

The Baran Do are force sensitive members of the Kel Dor race. They seek inner peace and are very patient, consulting with the Force before making decisions. These robes grant Haysh more power with the force and also help him resist onslaughts from both the Jedi and Dark Jedi.

Jal Shey Meditation Gloves

The Jal Shey use these gloves during meditation. How they function is unknown, but they seem effective in increasing one's awareness to their surroundings. These give Haysh another boost to force efficiency as well as dexterity.

Jal Shey Mentor Belt

The Jal Shey concentrate on intellectual study of the Force, seeking to understand it at a mental level, rather than a spiritual one. Jal Shey are typically exceptional diplomats, but are less successful in physical pursuits. Haysh finds this to be a useful upgrade to his natural intellectual abilities. This gives Haysh extra wisdom and resistance to the force.

Cybernetic Implants

Haysh never had cybernetic implants when he was a Jedi Master but when he became a Sith Lord and eventually a Gray Jedi he found implants to be a helpful advantage.

  • Mental Boost System:

This device improves all mental attributes, making it one of the most valuable of implants of its type. It gives a sizable advantage in cerebral activity and helps with all of Haysh's abilities.

  • Mental Boost D-Package:

A more advanced Mental Boost system than his other one and gives an even greater bonus to all mental abilities. D-Package implants are larger and more intrusive than other types. They tend to have more impressive effects, but can only be used by very healthy individuals.
