"When word came from the Ministry of Defense that we were to drive the Sith from the Republic and take the fight to them, I had thought it'd be easier to to convince 'em to walk out the airlock. But when I heard that Commander Hrisskar Heltz was goin' to lead us, I wondered why they didn't just send us to tackle Korriban itself. If there's a commander with more grit than old Hrisskar then I don't know of him. The Empire isn't going to know what hit 'em until it's too late!," - Unnamed Republic Soldier
Major Hrisskar Heltz was a Republic Regiment Commander at the time of the Great Galactic War and onwards. He is famous for his stubborn defense of Clak'dor VII and various raids into Empire-controlled space. Often regarded as a hero of the Republic and a public face for new recruits. When the Fifth was decimated during the Fall of Coruscant after being pulled back from the Rimma Trade Route, Hrisskar was quickly put into a new command; A branch of the Republic Special Forces.

Description:
Appearance:
Hrisskar was a tall, bearish man possessing a fading hairline that has reached the back of his head and a large moustache which falls victim to irritated tugging. His hairs are grey, formerly brown, due to his age which hasn't fully dampened his stamina and strength. He has a pair of stern, light blue eyes shaded by bushy eyebrows, often accompanied by a scowl; made even more intimidating an age-old projectile scar below his left eye. He usually wears his Republic Navy captain's uniform when aboard the Resurgence, but otherwise is found clad in typical Republic Trooper gear on the battlefield. Hrisskar carries himself as nearly all Corellians do, with pride and often foolish confidence. However as more than an adept commander, it is a confidence He has earned.
Class/Skills/Attributes:
Being in command of a cruiser is his official role in the Republic, however Hrisskar prefers a hands-on approach involving ground assaults and tactical insertions. He wields a blaster pistol with adequate aim although his draw is slowed by age. But it is his ability to command others which makes him a remarkable man. His very stature and tone can inspire a squad to heightened feats of valour and bravery. His strategic brilliance involves a number of plans backed by more plans carefully, and thoroughly, trialed and scrutinised in a council with his officers; who'm He always keeps close at hand for orders and advice. He is able to adapt to situations many would think hopeless and often has atleast one surprise as a last resort.
Equipment/Apparel:
The usual Republic Trooper gear is a set of duraplast plates covering an insulated black bodyglove designed to disperse the energy of a blaster bolt and insulate the wearer, lessening injury. Although standard armor lacked the durability to make the wearer immune to blaster fire and instead relied on repelling lower powered bolts, the set worn by special forces is specially equipped to take hits. It also deflected stun beams, and served as protection against explosions and shrapnel. It came with a built in wrist comlink and a heavily-advanced helmet that Hrisskar rarely ever wore. As with nearly all military armour in the Galaxy, the Republic having the credits to do so, there were essentials that were small enough to be carried in the utility belt of the suit. These included a high-tension wire with grappling hooks, spare blaster power packs, ion flares, energy rations, a spare comlink, water packs and medpacks. Also optional were choice of grenade, depending on the scenario requirements. The helmet automatic polarizing and anti-flash blinding lenses protected the trooper against intense glare and provided them with enhanced combat vision or "Holographic Vision Processors" (which allowed vision through many barriers such as smoke, darkness and fire. Advanced breathing filters and cooling systems were also fitted inside the helmet.
Starship(s):
The Republic Mobile Infantry Fifth Regiment utilised a balanced assortment of small gunships, Foray-class blockade runners and its flagship; a heavily equipped Hammerhead-class cruiser. Alongside the crews of Aurek and Chela fighters, the fleet was well adapted to suit almost any tactical situation. Though small, it was a force to be reckoned with.
Hrisskar himself commanded the fleet from the bridge of the Resurgence. It is the inspiring ship that has took enough beating from the Empire to truly wonder how it remains in service. This is down to the devoted crew who see the ship as a home rather than a mere transport and battleship. The Resurgence survived the Fall of Coruscant, and the destruction of The Fifth, and now serves as the home of the RSF.
He is no space-farer. But when duty calls for the personal touch, Hrisskar pilots his Chela-class Starfighter. Equipped with the usual armaments of laser cannons and concussion missles. There is no bond between pilot and ship as He sees it as but another tool to get the job done. There are no modifications besides a cockpit adjustment for his size. The Chela suits the Commander's belief in maximum damage and sacrifices mobility and speed to achieve this goal, in opposition to the swifter Aurek used by the majority of Republic pilots.
Typically, officers holding the rank of captain would hold the command of a single warship, but some captains were responsible for entire squadrons of capital ships, and not all warships were commanded by officers holding the substantive rank of captain. Although in naval terms Hrisskar is captain of the Resurgence, He also officially held command of The Fifth's fleet; however, when there were also ground assaults, this was usually a duty that fell to fellow captain Elligor Dunn, a staunch supporter and comrade who realises Hrisskar is suited to the ground.
Background:
Early Life
Hrisskar was born on the planet Corellia almost four decades before the Great Galactic War, in the capital city of Coronet.
His years as a youth were average. A good intuition, a strong will and admiration[Will continue later]
The aspiring young Corellian would study at the Republic Defense Academy on Carida at the behest of his Father.
The Fall of Coruscant and Forced Landing
As the Republic responded to the mysterious offer of peace sent by the Sith Lords, so to did the Jedi Masters leave Coruscant to safeguard the diplomats and discover the true intentions behind the insidious Sith Empire. The Fifth was called back to Coruscant on rotation in order to resupply and ultimatly rest before jumping back to the Outer Rim. But as delegations began between the ambassadors on Alderaan, the Sith struck. The immense fleets of the Empire launched a surprise assault on the capital of the Republic, annihilating the stunned defenses and bombarding the city-world from orbit. The Fifth's small fleet was ravaged within a half hour. Hrisskar was caught on the planet and, with what soldiers He could muster, including a Jedi Master, boarded a cruiser intending to save enough military to quickly regroup and strike back to retake Coruscant. Meanwhile the Resurgence, with no hope of collecting Hrisskar soon and rapidly losing the battle with the Empire's fleets, fled the system. It was joined by the cruiser harboring Hrisskar's men, although several warships managed to damage the ship, forcing it to calculate a jump to the Outer Rim. Pursued by an over-eager young Sith captain and his vessel, the cruiser was forced down onto an unknown desert planet's surface. The Sith were cautious, yet eager to salvage any Republic records that may have survived the crash; plainly unaware Coruscant would hold a wealth of such data. It is this that saved Hrisskar's men long enough for the engineers to rig one of the ship's cannons to operational status, and prepare blockades for the inevitable ground assault. It eventually came after one week of painful stalemate, the looming Sith warship in orbit having hired Bounty Hunters from a nearby system to partake in the assault on the cruiser. As the dropships landed, the cannon managed to destroy several and do enough damage to cull the first wave, before being destroyed by a Bounty Hunter's detonator. As the second wave approached, accompanied by a Sith Lord, Hrisskar led a surprising charge, punching through the Sith lines and after half a day's trek, reached the distant plateau. Setting up a distress beacon, the Resurgence responded immediatly and burst into the system while trading blows with the Sith warship.
