Loralei Angelo Was a Dantari Jedi Master of the Old Republic. She was renowned to have excellent skills in all areas, including: Lightsaber skill, and incredible force ability with the power of battle meditation and skill in other areas that were essential. A celebrated hero of her time, She would serve the Jedi for many years before falling for another Jedi named Riku Marluxia against the Jedi Code. Her death was bought on by lightsaber impalement from a Sith Lord in the Battle of Manaan whilst defending her son. Also known for her cryptic and heratic way of talking from her Dantari point of view, in which she taught her son their language, and way of life.

She is the biological mother of Fugitive Ex-Jedi 'A'amakualenalena Marluxia (Whom she gave all her traits, and even her lightsaber to), adoptive Grandmother of Alia Angelo and Grandmother of Jedi Knight Kairi Evolet Marluxia and her sisters Leonella Marluxia and Delilah Loralei Marluxia, in which her name was given.

History

Early Life

Loralei was born on the agricultural planet of Dantooine as part of the primitive Dantari to the Kunga tribe. She was raised as a simple nomadic girl, waiting around and tending to the every need o the dominant males of the tribe. From an early age she was primitively farming the rich land of all its resources and learning to cook from her ancestors what the hunters would bring in. Her village would fall under frequent attack from the neighboring infidel tribe and adjusted to the life of burning villages and death, at one point losing her mother to an enemy siege. One day she was amongst the flora picking the wild berries that tended to grow amongst them when she fell under harms way from a savage and malicious Kath Hound, which was native to the world. She tried to escape her fate, but was no use as she was surely to be eaten but was saved by a Jedi Master who took on the Hound in a wild battle in which he was harmed.

Loralei, thankful for her last-minute rescue dragged the man back to her village where she then took care of him and nursed him back to proper health standards. After he had recovered, the man thanked Loralei and sensed her Force potential at the same time which he took in the notice and inquired with the Kunga chief for her to whisked away to be trained in their art. At first Loralei was reluctant to leave her Family but she changed her mind under guidance from the Spirit gods in which she interacted with and they told her to go.

Training/Padawan Years

Loralei was very slow in her training and she did not understand much of what was being taught. She was usually teased throughout this era by the other students, amongst these measly insults was "Dirty savage girl," and aload of other horrific taunts. As time progress she continued her training, slowly building her skill with the lightsaber by training it regularly and honing it to perfection. Her talents though, they lay in the force. Her ability in the force appeared unmatched after time, for it was strong, a great affinity which she was training to unravel into a force to be reckon with. It showed her telepathic abilities and that of Mind tricks where very strong and she possessed the rare art of Battle meditation which was concealed for some time. Impressed with her abilities she was eventually taken as an apprentice by an unnamed master.

She was taught the skill of Form III, commonly referred to as Soresu, which was the form for defensive combat a skill she got the hang of very quickly. With the aid of her master her ability in the force was vastly amplified making her even more powerful. The council decided for her to become a Councilor later in her life, but for now she had knowledge of a variety of secondary skills like being able to hack into a mainframe or how to properly trap an enemy. It wasn't long before she had begun onto her missions with her master.

Mission in Space

Loralei and her master were sent immediately to an abandoned Space station out in the Rishi Maze after the Order received an urgent distress call. when they arrived via docking their space craft to the hull of the station, the interior appeared to be desolated and vastly empty. Rounding a corner though, they were assaulted by a unit of Hk Assassin Droids. As soon as their lightsabers were ignited and in their grasp, they were spinning and striking until the droids were nothing but a junk heap. Rounding yet another corner, Loralei deflected a blaster bolt before using the force tod estroy another droid. This process would continue until her master eventually discovered and rescued the helpless victim.

A Deadly Emotion

On one such mission to the war-torn world of Melida/Daan she and her master were paired with the jedi team of Riku Marluxia and his master. The mission proved vile and difficult, often pressuring the padawans to rely heavily upon each other and trust their movements. It was on this very mission that the tiny spark of love began to glint between the two beings after Riku repetitively saved the life of Loralei. By the end of the week they had confessed their unyielding feelings for each other, but this attraction was forbidden by the Jedi Code. Returning to the mission and casting their feelings aside for the time being, Loralei's thoughts returned to the mission as she fought to bring peace to this cruel planet, which was not easy with the frequent attack from an assassin from either, which was why Loralei always had her saber at the ready.

In an explosive surprise attack, Loralei and Riku fought to survive the deadly assualt against their foe but were easily pushed to a corner and halted. Fearing for the end of their lives, they proved their love for each other by sealing it with a passionate kiss before their short rescue at the hand of their masters.

Leaving The Order (3673 BBY)

Over time Loralei and Riku's feelings began to escalate and amass, leading to the choice of the two leaving the order. The two decided it to be for the best because they did not want to endanger the Jedi Code. Loralei consulted her Dantari Spiritual Guides and they provided the wisdom of choice which inevitably lead to the decision of exile. The two left on an early freighter, disguises themselves as refugees whilst they escaped back to Loralei's homeworld of Dantooine. Upon arrival Loralei took her lover on a journey to her tribe of the Kunga People where she introduced Riku to her father and her village elders. It took awhile but them as a couple were eventually agreed and were wed under a swift sunrise on an eerie afternoon. Later that night, the two would indeed make love to each other, which lead to a pregnancy.

Lehon and Child Birth

As soon as they learned of Loralei's pregnancy they decided to go through with it and were very joyous of the occasion that they were going to conceive a child. Loralei spent most of her pregnancy period in her village where she constantly consulted her gods for protection of her unborn child and for it's acceptance into the land and the stars. All was well until Loralei started to become ill with a disease. Loralei fearing for the life of her unborn child and Riku for the life of his wife, they decided to return to Republic space and seek medical aid. During the hyperspace trip, the ship began to undergo serious and technical malfunctions to its system, which cause the ship to go of course and drift towards a nearby planet. Upon entering the atmosphere the ship began to deteriorate and burn until it crashed swiftly into the beach of the planet, which was lehon. Most of the crew perished in the accident, but those that survived got to enjoy the luxury of the lush and tropical world, and the downfall of the wild beast that roam there. The remaining crew split up and went off to search for help whilst Riku and Loralei decided to fend for themselves and went the opposite way. Days turned to weeks, weeks to months and it was clear that rescue was not an option. They had not seen or heard the other survivors since they departed on the beach and so they were presumed dead. Riku and Loralei had decided to live in a cave near the beach where they lived of fruit and other rations which grew amongst nature. Loralei's condition was slowly getting weaker, but her spirit was at its strongest as she entered the last stage of her pregnancy.

On a cold, damp and very wet morning, Loralei's water broke unexpectedly and she quickly fell into labor. Riku rushed to her side and helped through all her painful contractions, whilst ensuring she gave birth safely. After a couple of minutes which seemed longer than they were the baby began to crown before Riku brought his young son into the world. The couple immediately greeted their child with love and compassion, and granted him the name 'A'amakualenalena meaning Strong and Fierce warrior in Dantari.

Raising a Son (3671 BBY - 3663 BBY)

Loralei put the raising of her son to her top priority. Over the years she carefully administered to her son, ensuring his every need and desire and granted him the love he deserved. She taught him everything about their family tribe the Kunga and about their people and way life and 'A'amakualenalena learned quickly, becoming fluent in their language by the mere age of six. She didn't reveal his force sensitivity just yet, waiting for the right moment in time as she instructed her son in the ways of combat using simple sticks sharpened out of branches as weapons whilst 'A'amakualenalena was unaware Loralei was teaching him the form Soresu of the lightsaber. The two would usually always be together, they were inseparable whether they were sleeping, cooking or fruit gathering for they loved each other greatly and shared a special bond of mother and son kinship. The two were alike, not just in habits but in personality and traits, he had her eyes, her spirit, her power he had just about acquired everything from her, even her nature. Loralei also made sure that 'A'amakualenalena went hunting with his father to ensure necessary survival attributes.

Return to Known Space/Knighthood

By the time 'A'amakualenalena had achieved the age of 9, Riku and Loralei have had enough of their exclusion on Lehon whilst their was nothing that could be done about it. The chance arose to leave it all behind when a surveillance ship arrived to survey the planet of necessities. Loralei and her family charged towards the ship in a desperate struggle to get off the world, and at first were thought to be attacking savages and were heavily fired upon. This idea was ceased when riku drew his lightsaber in a flash and quickly defended his feeble family, proving himself to be a jedi of the republic, granting access to the ship. It was on this ship via route to Coruscant that young 'A'amakualenalena discovered his connection to the force by using his hands to levitate a collection of blocks found in the room, and when 'A'amakualenalena approached her, she confessed everything. Once entering the busy, trafficking atmosphere of the capitol, the ship took them to the Jedi Temple where they were to report to the Council immediately. With the meeting with the Masters, they were shocked and disappointed of what ad transpired between the two but they all agreed on the factor of seclusion and survival they both endured, granting them both the rank of Jedi Knight whilst also being impressed by the talent and skill of their young son 'A'amakualenalena and decided against his age to induct him into the order for training.

Mission to Phindar

Loralei accepted a mission to investigate the terrible food shortage that was transpiring on the planet Phindar. After exceptional and professional investigate utilizing the use of tactics and contacts, Loralei was able to unravel the plot lead by a criminal organization to take control over the planet with the force of malice, cruelty and injustice. Using quick thinking and coming up with a cunning plan Loralei swiftly infiltrated the enemy command, but not with complications of harm. Conjuring the force to her, should quickly used a combination of mind tricks and force pushes to delay her foe and only having to use her lightsaber once. Breaking down the door with an impresive use of the force, she engaged the leader of this vile cult in a deadly duel, with him wielding a sharpened vibro-blade. The duel was long and exhilarating, forcing Loralei to block every second she had the chance whilst coming back with a swift strike. Eventually she cast the vibro-blade from his grasp and smote her enemy's ruin, ceasing the threat on Phindar

The Unknown Cluster

On route back to the Jedi Temple for debriefing, Loralei's escort ship was rapidly fired upon by an unknown source, causing the ship to fail. Before anyone knew it it was spiraling out of control, floating blindly through space and then eventually towards an unknown, but deadly cluster. The ships broke through the atmosphere in a searing blaze before slamming hard into the soil. They had crashed on an unknown cluster deep in space, surrounded by a group of Stars and Planets. There was time for recovery and grief later, as the attackers were closing in with a ground assault, showing no mercy as the fire their blasters aimlessly. Lightsaber drawn, Loralei pushed the survivors back deeper into the hull of the ship for more protection whilst she utilized Soresu to reflect the incoming bolts of energy, hurling them back to there mark. Dodging to the left, and sending her blade down to kill she moved on to the next taking more down as she graceful danced through the hull, a dance of death. When only a few remaining, she tasked the survivors to break for the enemy ship whilst she defended them from the remaining unit via deflection. When they arrived she boosted up the ship in a hurry and quickly made for the reaches of space.

Jedi Master (3667 BBY )

At some point prior to this year Loralei was granted with the honorable rank of Jedi Master, taking on her first apprentice a young boy by the name of Crion Harangh. Loralei had originally planned to take her own son as her fist apprentice but the Council forbade it and he was assigned to master Arius Quan, a very good friend of Loralei. Loralei began to instruct her new learner carefully, sensing and seeing his ability in combat Loralei decided to train him as a Jedi Guardian. Their average training session would include hours of combat duels and soars to sharpen his senses in melee fighting whilst adding abit of studies on the force to aid in his abilities. Instead of instructing in Soresu, she decided to teach Ataru so Crion could utilize the full extent of his abilities to defeat his enemies. After teaching him the basic lore and history of the order, the two began the mandatory master/apprentice mission era. Downfall

A Star Goes Out

The Battle of Manaan a terrible and horrific slaughter that Loralei, her apprentice Crion, her son 'A'amakualenalena and his master Arius and Masters Spenta Myrunji and his padawan Leyasu were caught right in the middle of. Valenthyne and Arius went off, lightsabers drawn and began to engage the attacking units, slowly defending and striking them down one by one. Trying not to worry about the life of her son, Loralei and Crion began to evacuate the fleeing selkath residents onto the escaping transport freighters. This proved a daunting task as it was constantly in need of lightsaber deflection and protection. After what seemed like hours the bombs began to drop hard, forcing all the Jedi into cover, where 'A'amakualenalena suited up into armor. Returning to the field, 'A'amakualenalena and Loralei were unwillingly placed together as they both utilized Soresu in a graceful dance defending against the incoming fire, and by swiftly striking back one at a time. The two's force energy swelled, amassed and flowed between the two like a beacon of light in the darkness and Loralei sat whilst Valenthyne protected her so she could use her battle meditation. With Crion nowhere in sight it was still Valenthyne's task to defend his mother as he strafed from left to right reflecting and blocking the bolts of energy whilst also engaging and defeating incoming enemies.

The enemy commander came through the fog like a deadly shadow and instantly broke Loralei's meditation. The commander turned out to be a Sith lord as she drew her blade of green, and her force energy was at its highest, as she was so powerful you could sense her a mile away. Rushing swiftly to the aid of his mother, before 'A'amakualenalena could send a force push he was whisked away by one, not before delivering a glancing blow to the neck that wasn't enough to kill as he went hurtling down the side of Ahto City. Loralei, now annoyed engaged the combatant in a deadly duel forcing her to stay in a heavy defence position blocking blows left, right and center. It was clear she was overmatched as 'A'amakualenalena spanned the horizon sprinting as fast as he could towards his mother but all was lost as her weapon was cast aside and her blade pierced her chest. Shock and tears filled the eyes and choked the lungs of young 'A'amakualenalena as he engaged to finish his mothers job, for now she was tired and weary and made an easy target, even for 'A'amakualenalena. Blocking swiftly whilst coming back with a quick strike he was weakning her, he knew it as he dispated a force push and returned it with his own, sending her flying. Gathering force spend, he ran up to her hurtling body, grabbed her by the leg, slammed her down hard and began to punch her rapidly in the face. There was nothing she could do as Valenthyne summoned his lightsaber to his grasp and sent it down on the togruta sith, ending her miserable life.

All the masters amassed to see 'A'amakualenalena clutching the body of his mother, Jedi Master Loralei Angelo to his chest sobbing tears of grief and despair. Her body was returned to her Kunga village as she was cremated in a ceremony attended by the entire tribe and most of the Jedi Order and was respected with the construction of a small memorial there with a plaque saying:

This memorial is dedicated to the memory of Loralei Alihi Kaua, respected Jedi Master and loving Mother. May your spirit forever soar the highest friend.

Legacy

Loralei would not be forgotten after her passing as most of the Jedi Order would never forget her and that alot of her galaxy was in debt. Loralei continues to watch her family from above, providing wisdom and guidance through her ancestral spirits to those of her family who still follow there Dantari heritage like her son and his wife Evolet. Though she lives on in her son also, for he has acquired everything from her, her eyes, spirit, traits and personality where all passed down to him. Every year on her birthday, Valenthyne returns to the Kunga Village and pays respects to her memorial there. Valenthyne's youngest daughter Delilah Loralei Angelo is named after her.
