Early Life (3,686 BBY - 3,666 BBY)

Maze was born on the moon Nar Shaddaa, the "Smuggler's Moon." He grew up on the moon together with his father, and they both stood very close to each other. By the age of 16, Maze got more and more involved within the criminality which flourished on the large moon. He became a skilled thief, and were known for his very fast reflexes. At the age of 20, he joined a group of smugglers who planned on smuggling an expensive, luxury kind of spice for the Exchange. Before the mission started, Maze was confronted by a man who was covered in dark robes. He asked that they would sell the spice to them instead, and that they would pay double the price The Exchange was giving for it. Wanting the money, he accepted. His smuggling partners were afraid of what would happen if they betrayed the Exchange, so told Maze that if he's was going to deliver the spice to someone else, he would do so by his own.

Naive as he was at the time, he was still determined to get the extra money. A few days later they met in a dark alley on Nar Shaddaa, where the trade was to be done. As he entered the Alley he noticed that there were not only one, but three robed men. They were all three very pale in the face, and Maze felt the evil that they spread in the surroundings. They walked up to him and told him that they primarily were not here for the merchandise, but in fact were there for him. They said that they could feel his potential and wanted to bring him back with them. Maze had no idea of what they were talking about and tried to back out of the deal. At the same time the three men removed their outer robes and activated their crimson lightsabers. Maze feared for his life and started to run away, but the men were faster than him.

As they were gaining in on him, a blue flash suddenly appeared. Shortly afterwards he heard a scream coming from behind, and turned around. He saw one blue light in the alley versus two red lights, all three of them clashing with each other. He started to walk back and pulled out his trustworthy slugthrower, as even more screams were heard and then only the blue light remained.

The man with the blue lightsaber walked up to Maze, and he suddenly felt all calm inside. He lowered the gun as the man started to speak. He stated that his name was Gotous, and that he was a Jedi Knight from the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. He apologized that he had used Maze to lure out the dark Sith, but he deemed it necessary to save other people from their grasps. He then went on and explained that he had been following Maze for multiple days now, and he was strong in the Force. He wished to bring him with him back to Coruscant for training.

Maze, shocked that a Jedi would use him as bait felt somewhat disappointed, but then when he heard that a Jedi wished to train him to become one, he filled up with warmth in his heart. He accepted the Jedi Master's proposal, and traveled back to Coruscant with him within a few days, thus leaving his sickening father behind on Nar Shaddaa.

Jedi Training (3,666 BBY - 3,660 BBY)

When Maze and Gotous arrived at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, the training to become a Jedi began at once. For 4 years, Maze and Gotous trained intensively everyday. During the many years of training, he learned the many rules and restrictions of a Jedi, but he often neglected some of them in order to handle things in ways he found better for the situation. He was often criticized for this by his Master and the Orders Trainers, but Maze just viewed the Jedi Code in a different way then most others. He knew the code by heart, but he followed them more like guidelines then restrictive rules. He always used to say that: "The rules must sometimes be broken in order to be useful."

He developed a blue lightsaber using Even though Maze excelled in swordplay, and mastered both the defensive form of Soresu, and aggressive form of Ataru, he learned that his true power came from his own mind. Even though the Republic and the Jedi were in a war against the Sith, he always kept his calm and acted as an inspiration to even some of the older masters. During his training he never fought in the war, as his master was not able to go into war; He was tutor to many of the students at the Coruscant Academy, and as such was more needed at the Temple than on the front lines.

By the time Maze became 26, he was considered a fully trained Jedi. No longer the adventurer type, he often taught other students who needed help in the Temple, and offered guidance to those who needed it. Though the Jedi were in war, people in different areas of the world still needed help, and those missions where the priority work that Maze had instead of fighting in the Great War.

Sacking of Coruscant (3,656 BBY)

The Sacking of Coruscant came as a surprise to all of the Jedi within the Temple. All were called to fight for Coruscant and the Jedi Order. Gotous and Maze were positioned outside the Jedi Temple and fought to protect it at all costs. Both of them fought for many hours defending the Jedi Temple. Maze tried to bring with him a group of Jedi who would try to flank the Sith advancing on the Temple. They succeeded in diverting a group of Sith from attacking the Temple, but the Sith were just too many. They were forced to retreat back to the Temple. As Maze arrived back at the Temple he witnessed something horrible; His master, Gotous was impaled by a Sith, just as he was 30 meters away. Fueled by his fury, he went on a rampage in which he slew many Sith.

When the Jedi Temple was destroyed, the Jedi knew this fight was not one they could win. Everyone retreated into hiding for the duration of the battle. In the aftermath, the Galactic Republic was forced to sign under the Treaty of Coruscant, which meant a major setback for the Republic. Many blamed the Jedi for bringing this upon them, just as they had during the Jedi Civil War. The Jedi Council decided that the Jedi were to return to the ancient Jedi world of Tython. Maze, now without a Master chose not to join the Jedi on Tython but instead travel to the moon Yavin 4, where he was told there was a newly established Order under the leadership of Spenta Myrunji, a Jedi who had fought remarkably in the space battle.

The Republic Order on Yavin 4

Maze joined the Republic Order which resided on Yavin 4. The Order was run by Spenta Myrunji, who was the Grand Master of the Order. Maze, although fully grown was not considered a fully trained Jedi in the eyes of Spenta; Even though he was considered fully trained by the Jedi Order. The time he was trained in was a time when the Jedi Order was in dire need of Jedi, and they only had time to teach out the basics. Maze joined the Dewback Clan, and studied under Spenta with his fellow padawans.

Prelude to the Battle of Kashyyyk

Mission to Tatooine

One day, Maze was sent on a mission to Tatooine, along with Jedi Master Spenta Myrunji and Padawan Aeir Lunaren. They traveled there to investigate any Sith activity in Mos Eisley. As soon as they landed, Spenta sent Maze and Aeir off to investigate. The two Padawans noticed that the entire settlement was empty of people. Even the cantina, which always have been fully crowded by people during these hours. As they walked about, they encountered a young woman named Kyrie. They went into the cantina where she explained what was going on. She told them that the Sith were out looking for Orbalisk Layers and a Krayt Dragon Pearl.

Upon hearing this, they were suddenly attacked by Mandalorians hired by the Sith. The two Jedi Padawans fought of the soldiers as Padawan Kantus Velns arrived on the planet to aid the two. They eventually fought of the Mandalorians, when a Sith apprentice showed up. The Sith proved no match for the three Jedi, and was after a fierce duel finally defeated. Upon his body, the Jedi found a Holocron. They brought the Holocron with them back to the ship, where they gave it to Master Spenta. He studied it on the travel back to Yavin 4, and managed to open it. He found out about the Siths plans; They planned on giving the Orbalisk Layers to a Terentatek to make it near invincible for a Jedi to stop. He also found the location of the Sith Base on Dathomir, which was were Maze and Aeir were going next to investigate.

Investigation on Dathomir

Upon discovering the location of the Siths base of operations, Master Spenta sent Maze and Aeir to investigate. Upon arriving near the coordinates given from the Holocron, they found the planet empty, and the Sith base deserted. On their way back to the ship, they were ambushed by Sith who had been left behind on the planet. Before they started to fight though, the Sith told them that the new Sith Lord was on the way to attack the Republic Order on Yavin 4. At first neither of them believed him, thinking him only to use Dun Möch on the two. But then the Sith showed them a hologram of Yavin 4 under attack. Furious of what they just saw, they engaged the Sith in lightsaber combat and came out victorious.

They hurried back to their ship, but everything was now on a lockdown in the base. More sith appeared and started to fight with the Jedi. Thinking it the only way to escape, the two Jedi dressed up in the Sith clothes and sneaked aboard one of the Sith Vessels instead. They used it to travel to the Sith Capital Ship where the two found out that the Sith Lord was in fact Spenta's old apprentice, Ro'Siris. The two destroyed a Super weapon called the Planet Grazer, before escaping down to Yavin 4.

On the planet, the Sith had already been pushed back, and with the destruction of their Superweapon, they were now in full retreat. They met up with Spenta and the other Jedi and explained what had happened, and who the Sith's leader was. Spenta was shocked to hear his old apprentice was alive and worse, a Sith Lord. Spenta had found out what the Sith Lord's next move was, an attack on the Wookie homeplanet of Kashyyyk. Maze and Aeir quickly dispatched to the Kashyyyk where they met up with a Wookie Elder. They told him of the incoming threat, and he eventually believed him. As he prepared for the incoming attack, Aeir and Maze traveled back to Yavin 4 to ready themselves and their Jedi friends for the fight.
