Quotes/Mottos
“He only works for me, he can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with.” - Nex reguarding Raylon's employment and loyalty.
"I am required to hunt, so I hunt. That is enough." - Raylon to local gang boss.
Appearance
Average sized, athletic Felacatian male. Training and relying more on his agility, speed, and precision strikes in combat rather than brute strength. Due to his rigorous training exercises, Raylon has developed a rather lithe, muscular form. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He mainly wears brown robes built from a light fabric that compliments his fighting style. When heavily stressed or angered he takes on the form of a large predatory cat.
History
Raised on the planet of Yanibar as a hunter’s son on the outskirts of the Zeison Sha temple, the Sha Kalan, Raylon spent most of his young childhood following and helping his father gather and hunt meat for his family. His mother was a medic and a chef. When Raylon was not out hunting with his father she taught Raylon all she knew about medicine and cooking.
Coming from a strong hunting and warrior culture, Raylon excelled at the discipline, and was trained as a Zeison Sha, the most highly respected organization on his homeworld. He became a proficient archer and a skilled warrior with the discblade, but preferred the bow overall. He learned to take the same abilities they used to make their discblade so deadly and applied it to his bow, whether improving his accuracy with each shot or imbuing the arrow increasing the distance that each one could travel and the damage each one inflicted.
Due to his force sensitivity and lack of force sensitive parents he was taught by another Zeison Sha the finer points of his force abilities. They taught him a great deal about independence and self-reliance. Along with everything else, he was taught that there was great honor in defending his family and to aid others. The experience of continuously living and training through the seasonal extremes improved his tracking, combat, and force abilities. He spent most of his free time with his father being taught how to control his animal form while hunting and tracking.
At the age of eleven he met a young woman on his walk back to his house after a day of hunting, Siren Reed. She was a Felacatian roughly the same age as Raylon. She had thick, raven hair that tumbled down past her shoulders. Her tricopper-hued fur was set off by her emerald green eyes that captivated Raylon without the slightest bit of effort. They spent most of their free time together and became good friends in a short time.
Raylon excelled in his combat training and hunting skills. Most of the primitive and simple equipment he wore or used Raylon made on his own. He believes that in order to grow stronger, one must ultimately rely only on oneself.
A group of men landed on Yanibar in a cargo freighter disguised as merchants and traders but were instead slavers. One day after returning from the daily training and hunt, his home was one of many that were raided by a pair of them. His parents were slain after an attempt to fight back. The two men then turned on Raylon as soon as he got back and entered his home. He morphed and tried to hold off the two men but they proved more than a match for him and rendered him unconcious. The boy was then caged and put onto the freighter for transport and sold for quick credits.
At the age of thirteen, Raylon's lack of space experience stressed him greatly causing him to break out of his cage and attack all onboard. The cargo freighter ultimately crashed on Vendaxa instead of going to its intended destination where Raylon finally escaped from one prison into the next. Raylon quickly adapted to his new life on the planet following only one rule: Hunt or be Hunted. He spent the majority of his time in his Animal Form which wore away the majority of his logic and reason turning him into a wild and vicious hunter. Due to that, most of his ability at telekinesis and force imbue degraded greatly.
His connection with the force manifested itself in other ways due to his change in behavior and nature in animal form. Raylon slowly learned to alter the environment around him increasing his survival odds and hunting capabilities. He learned to do a wide range of changes from lowering/raising the temperature around him enough to ward off other predators or increasing the destructive power of the weather to more easily bring down a kill.
A Talortai named Nex Deus landed on the planet years later to collect animals and plants which he traded for large profits offworld to supply his crime ring. While on an excursion to collect local wildlife Nex captured Raylon, losing many men in the process, thinking him nothing more than an unstable wild beast. Nex was suprised to find that the large predatory cat was indeed a Felcatian after Raylon returned to normal after becoming extremely exhausted. After a few intense mettings between the two, Raylon, from then on, went to work with this Talortai, hunting and tracking down all sorts of criminals and scum for his organization.
Due to Raylon’s long period of isolation from the galaxy most of the technology he became surrounded by was very knew to him. He spent days learning about select pieces of weapons and armor he believed could complement his skills whether by reading about it or being taught by Nex.
Working as Nex’s employee, Raylon received enough credits to outfit himself with better armor, weapons, and other equipment. With the combination of his connections and his savings of credits was the birth of one of his most prized possessions, his custom built mask.
Raylon’s time was spent doing odd jobs for Nex bringing in small amounts of credits. His skills as a hunter remained highly regarded by Nex as he continued working for him. Soon Nex promoted Raylon as a personal bodyguard and travelled with Nex everywhere he went.
His time not working for Nex is now spent onboard the Felacat living more as a pirate, provoking others into battle.
Personality
Although his mental state had been worn down from remaining in his animal form, he still cares greatly for his mother, father, and Siren Reed, and becomes extremely violent when others insult them. Years of living on Yanibar and Vendaxa molded his actions around the concept of hunting and stalking prey to further increase and test his abilities. He greatly anticipates battle, becoming eager to join any war for bloodlust and the thrill of battle, and enjoys when the enemy refuses to stand and fight allowing him to hunt.
Goals and Ambitions
To hunt, kill, and survive.
Equipment
Raylon prefers to use his bow offworld. He uses many different arrows with it, tipping them with various poisons ranging from a simple numbing agent to a quick killing poison. All adavnced tech that Raylon uses was given to him by Nex Deus, such as his mask, wristblades/speargun, and new bow.
Bow
Originally constructed from wood on Yanibar, it was destroyed when he was shipped off world and landing on Vendaxa. It was then later made from durasteel and combined with various sensors, motors, and other mechanics after joining Nex, it allows even a young adult to shoot arrows with great speed, power, and accuracy. When combined with the force, it becomes a formidable weapon against any and all creatures with the ability of penetrating most armor.
Wristblades
Twelve inch twin blades with jagged double edges connected to a gauntlet and sharp enough to tear through bone, effective against large and small opponents. The gauntlet also houses a small spear like projectile between the blades that can be fired from great distances, with the possibility of instantly killing victims. It can also attach to a target, like a dart-gun, to a wall or other solid object.
Sith Sword
As with all Sith swords they were constructed through various metallurgical and magical means, transmuting base metals into an alchemical alloy possessing an unusual affinity for dark side energies. Nex Deus aquired the weapon through his connections in the black market and presented it to Raylon as a gift for his services. The rare metallic compounds used in its construction frequently resulted in a blade far heavier than its length would indicate, and Raylon's was no different. It often requires great strength of body as well as in the Force to successfully wield the weapon in combat. The rare ores used in its construction resisted lightsabers in much the same manner as cortosis and Phrik alloy, while its polished surface reflected laser beams and other coherent light weapons like a mirror. But perhaps most significantly, the weapon served as a focus for Raylon's force energy when weilded, amplifying his power and refining his control, making Raylon seem to radiate force energy. The weapon's magnetic properties, combined with its attraction to the dark side of the Force, caused it to react unusually to discharges of Force lightning; The blade can attract and absorb the energy, storing it like an electric capacitor until the blade makes contact with a substantial physical object, whereupon the amplified electrical energy is discharged— to an extremely devastating effect.
Discblade
A razor-edged throwing weapon. Trained in its use from a young age, Raylon can hurl his discblade with great accuracy before calling it back to his hand. His use of the discblade could also be further enhanced through the Force, whether by adding accuracy, calling the weapon back to the thrower, or imbuing the blade to make it stronger. Raynor always keeps one of these on his ship. While he has been known to use it in battles/hunts, he continues to use his bow over the Discblade but will turn to it if need be.
Cloaking Device
By bending light waves around the wearer, the cloaking device (built into Raylon’s belt) makes him practically invisible. However, it doesn't grant true invisibility. An alert opponent would be able to notice the heatwave-like shimmer, especially noticeable when Raylon is moving. Force users can also detect his presence.
Only mounted weapons are affected by the cloak. This includes concealed weapons like retracted wrist blades or other weapons kept hidden by backpacks and so forth. Once extended or revealed, the weapon is visible.
Mask
The mask Raylon wears is used not only for improving combat but also for increased precision while fixing a variety of electronic equipment. It offers protection during combat, and houses a respirator which provides (or supplements) a breathable atmosphere for a limited amount of time. It is also capable of being used underwater similar to scuba gear. It gives the wearer a dramatic increase in eyesight, can filter through five visual settings: Infrared, Ultraviolet, Thermal Imaging, Low-Light Amplification and Air Density Pressure (movement). Also housed within the helmet is a targeting and tracking system. It features an extensive array of surveillance equipment, such as a zoom capability to view and aim over great distances. The tracking system also allows the user to plot a moving object's trajectory. The helmet also features advanced audio decoding devices, to increase (or stabilise) Raylon's sense of hearing. Also included is a Waveform Analyzer which can record or playback audio and speech, in an effort to either understand an alien language -- or simply taunt his prey. Created during his employment to Nex, it has more than proved its usefulness over the years.
Abilities and Powers
Raylon was trained as a Zeison Sha during his early years, leading him to focus on both the mental and physical aspect of the Force in his training such as a jedi, becoming an impressively skilled fighter. From living on Yanibar, he was incredibly gifted at using force push/pull and other telekinetic abilities ranging from levitating objects, knocking over enemies, to imbuing his arrows with the force. After landing on Vendaxa, however, his powers manifested differently and previous force abilities became almost non existent. His ability with the Bow allows him to be able to pick off targets from great distances and amazing accuracy, but for close combat he uses his wristblades or changes to his animal form.
After crashing and living on Vendaxa he became deeply connected to the elements of earth, fire, air, and water. His abilities included buckling stone, creating walls of wind, generating spouts of flame, and produce large waves of water. He could ignite targets using fire, or make his motion more fluid in battle. His newly self taught power Alter Environment helped improve his survival capabilities and helped him stay hidden from even bigger predators. Plant Surge became another power available to him and he used it almost constantly with Alter Environment in order to survive everyday life on the planet.
