Appearance:

"Epicanthix: a near-human race native to the Pacanth Reach; the Epicanthix are geneticall very close to standard human stock. Their variances from baseline humans are subtle: all Epicanthix have long, black hair; they are tall, well-muscled, and tend to be williowy and graceful; and they are extremely warlike in their ways."

Shoulder-length black hair, grey eyes, and average height for her people. Having undergone physical training of one form or another since childhood, she has a strong, athletic build while still managing to be feminine. She has a dragon tattoo on left bicep that carries over shoulder and down her back, horizontal scar under her chin, a large scar running from ten centimeters above her left knee to 8 centimeters below, & a scar on back running from left shoulder-blade to right hip. Facial tattoos which cover the majority of her face. Her arms are covered with Epicanthix tribal tattoos which resemble Teras Kasi symbols. The inside of her left wrist bears an arcane Sith. Her back bears Sith sigils down the line of her spine. Her attire usually consists of clothing that she would feel comfortable fighting in and allow for the greatest range of motion.

Personal Interests

  • Music: A Classically trained musician and music aficionado – she favours acoustic stringed instruments to their more conventional electric counterparts. It is noted she has a large collection of instruments.
  • Art: Self-taught skilled painter and sketch artist, preferring to work in mixed media
  • Swoop Racing: Ever since watching a race she was hooked and tried to make a go at it during her time on Tatooine but wasn't good enough to be any more than an armature
  • Martial Arts: Like all Epicanthix, she was a student of unarmed combat from an early age. She was introduced to Teras Kasi during her few years at a monastery on Bunduki.
  • Combat Sports: She thoroughly enjoys watching combat sports, particularly bloodsports, which she developed an appetite for when she lived on Tatooine
  • Philosophy: A keen student of Philosophy in all its forms, she is especially versed in Ancient Philosophies
  • Other: She also considers herself a bit of a history buff and an amateur archaeologist, and has been known to attend the occasional dig from time to time.

Psychological Profile

Saraiah suffers from, in my opinion, a mild form of bi-polar disorder. Bipolar disorder, once known as manic-depression, is a psychiatric diagnosis referring to a mental health condition defined by periods of extreme, often inappropriate, and sometimes unpredictable mood states. Bipolar individuals generally experience mania, hypomania or mixed states alternating with clinical depression and euthymic or normal range of mood over varied periods of time. There are many variations of this disorder. A person with bipolar disorder generally tends to experience more extreme states of mood than other people. Moods can change quickly (many times a day) or last for months. Bipolar individuals tend to have very 'black and white' thinking, where everything in life is either a positive aspect or a negative. Mood patterns of this nature are associated with distress and disruption, and a relatively high risk of suicide. Bipolar disorder is also associated with a variety of cognitive deficits, in particular, the disorder may also skew the ability to judge others' emotion, and alter sense of awareness.

Family

Epicanthix nobility. While her family is alive and well, Saraiah is considered dead in their eyes for bringing shame and dishonour to the family name.

History

Early Life

Saraiah was born into the Damone family on the planet Panatha on the 31st of Welona. Life was easy for Saraiah, as her family were of the wealthy noble caste, holding modest estates in the fertile mountain plains with a clan fortress that dominated the landscape. As a child, Saraiah was introduced to the martial arts system the Epicanthix had developed and trained in for centuries. However life was not simply about being the best warrior she could be, she was also taught music, literature, art, history, politics, and her great love archaeology. For her people and in particular her family, artistic training and scholarship were as important as her warrior skills, and in this environment Saraiah thrived. As she grew into early adult-hood, she frequently competed in tournaments, and while she did not always win, Saraiah as a talented fighter. It was her passion and her temper however that spelled the beginning of the end for Saraiah. During a routine tournament, Saraiah all but killed one of her opponents, getting herself forever banned from competing again. Attempting to regain some of their honour, her family arranged a marriage for Saraiah with a wealthy Baron. At the age of fifteen, the last thing Saraiah had on her mind was marriage and she vehemently fought against it. In the end there was little Saraiah could do to stop the marriage going ahead, and at such a tender age, Saraiah found herself a wife to a man four times her age. Being both inexperienced in the matters of the heart as well as the bedroom, Saraiah found herself repeatedly raped and abused by her husband; an act which would ultimately see him dead.

A Life Without Honour

Having slain her husband in a fit of anger, after no longer being able to control the rage building inside her for the constant abuse, Saraiah became a widow at the young age of sixteen. Knowing that Saraiah had killed her husband, her family did what they could to cover up the act, but forever turned their back on the girl who continually brought shame and dishonour to the once well respected family name. Packing her few belongings, he fled from the planet Panatha, only to end up on Bunduki, home of the Palawan monks, practitioners of Teras Kasi, a complex martial arts form which focuses on power and strength, including varying levels of damage depending on the force that is applied to the attacks. For ten years, Saraiah dedicated herself to this art, attempting to find peace and a balance in her life, however ultimately it was not meant to be and she left to find herself elsewhere.

Pit Fighter

After a time, Saraiah found herself living on Tatooine, doing odd jobs in and around the Outer Rim in order to make ends meat. For five years, Saraiah lived the life of a drifter, but thanks to a chance encounter, she was eventually able to put her fighting skills to use as a tournament pit fighter. While many of the fights were either to submission or unconsciousness, occasionally Saraiah did fights to the death if the money was right. Saraiah’s life had become such that she no longer cared if she lived or died, but fight after fight, it was obvious it was not Saraih’s time to join the force. While this lifestyle may have paid the bills, it ultimately led to Saraiah losing more of herself, as she spiralled down the path of stims and other drugs to get through the day. Not even the death of her slave at her own hands seemed to make any difference to her. The very same slave she had attempted to free from her former master, only to keep her for herself in the end. Saraiah had become consumed by darkness, and that darkness led her to one of the most defining moments of her life.

Relic Hunter

After killing her slave, Saraiah knew she needed a change and took an archaeology job on what later turned out to be Korriban. Ironically, the archaeology job led to her becoming a student at the Academy, a role which she stayed in some four and a half years, as she absorbed as much knowledge as the Academy was willing to grant her, and participated on some of the most exciting digs of her life. Her skills in archaeology made her invaluable to the scholars at the Academy, and they were more than happy to see her stay longer than perhaps she should.

A Shadow Rising

Thanks to her actions at the Academy, she was noticed by a secretive sect within the Empire known only as the Hands of Darkness. To many the Hands were simply a myth, something to talk about over a pint at the local cantina, to others they were something to be feared and were never spoken about in anything more than a whisper. To Saraiah, however, they would present not only the biggest challenges to her, but give her rewards beyond anything she could ever imagine. Finally she had found her place and purpose in life, and the maker help anyone who got in her way.

Unknown Facts

This is kind of information that most players would consider unavailable to other players. To obtain it, one would have to go to great length like slicing into government or corporate files or keeping Saraiah under careful surveillance for an extended amount of time. It is possible to get this information, but it is likely to be expensive and time consuming, and probably quite simply not worth the effort.
