Contents

Roleplaying Information:

  • "You feel an inner glow. The Force is with you."

-Star Wars Galaxies Pre-NGE /forcecheck for players to determine if they could become Jedi.

Pronunciation:

Syzion is pronounced "Sĭ-zh'ən" (rhymes with the word vision).

Server:

The server Lack of Faith (and thus Syzion) will join has yet to be determined. It will likely be a PVP server, if available.

Physical Appearance:

Syzion is a human male, roughly 6 feet, one inch tall. Syzion weights roughly 220 pounds and has a wiry, athletic build due partly to mistreatment during his enslavement and partly due to his Sith training.

Through surgical alteration and Syzion's practice of Sith Alchemy Masking he has the appearance of a normal light-skinned human with black hair and blue eyes.

However, due to the nature of the cybernetic cosmetic changes, Syzion's synthetic hair strands and eye iris pigmentation cells can temporarily shift colors in the presence of severe energy discharges to invert his black hair white and his blue eyes red.

Languages:

Syzion speaks Galactic Basic, and relies on protocol droids to translate when conversing with sentient species that do not speak it.

Skills and Force Proficiency:

Syzion is a competent pilot and soldier and has mastered the basic skills for each. However, these non-Force skills are enhanced and over-shadowed by his Dark Jedi abilities and Sith training.

Among many other Darkside Force-Powers, Syzion generally favors: Force Drain, Drain Knowledge, and Force Lightning (mainly Force Storm).

Syzion is proficient in Sith Alchemy as well as basic Holocron Construction. For mechanical endeavors he relies on droids.

Traits:

Syzion has a particular quirk: after spotting the enemy but before battle Syzion holds one of the palms of his hands open and face up; he then levitates one of his un-ignited lightsabers and sets it to spin. Upon entering battle he clenches his palm into a grip around the spinning lightsaber and ignites it. This is similar to how cocky Reborn would enter battle thousands of years later.

Apparel:

Syzion generally wears a stylized, hooded black Sith Robe with red highlights. Underneath he wears a black Zeyd Cloth uniform of long-sleeved shirt and pants with matching battle-field boots and gloves. Modeled after the Sith Army Officer Uniform Syzion's uniform differs from the standard only in that it is solid black with white highlights and uses Syzion's seal as the insignia. Syzion also wears two light armor polished-black cortosis bracers on his wrists.

If a given mission requires it, Syzion will change apparel to whatever he is issued. If a mission is particularly dangerous Syzion usually wears his custom Sith Armor. Regardless of preference, Syzion is generally not issued very advanced gear as he tends to ruin it in extreme combat in quenching his thirst for violence.

Equipment:

In addition to his lightsabers, Syzion generally favors using grenades, a Sith Mask (modified to have eye slits to allow sight) he wears to mask his initial approach to the enemy position, and a cache of stims as well as medpacs.

Aside from his lightsabers and the Silas Epo, Syzion's custom Sith Armor is the only other piece of equipment that he works to maintain.

Starships:

Syzion will fly whatever he is assigned or can salvage.

For single combat missions Syzion prefers starfighters for ship-to-ship combat, even when engaging medium-sized gunboats or capital ships.

Syzion is rarely given advanced fighters. Syzion usually flies older starfighters that are upgraded to compete against more modern fighter variants. When Syzion is cut off from reinforcement by the Sith Empire he flies whatever he can scrounge, which is never the state-of-the-art. But among the older salvaged ship models Syzion tends to fly left-over Sith starfighters reverse-engineered by shipwrights from the Star Forge design.

Regardless of the ship he flies Syzion generally doesn't bother to have the craft heavily modified since his starfighter combat style--while securing victory--tends to subject the fighter to debilitating battle damage. While Syzion is qualified to fly any starship resource-savvy commanders responsible for Syzion generally limit him to fly expendable starfighters, if any at all.

Syzion's primary travel starship is the armored freighter Silas Epo.

Silas Epo's Capabilities:

The Silas Epo is a heavily modified light freighter. It is maintained and improved by the ship's caretaker droids: the astromech droid L4-T3 and the assassin droid IKN-2.

In addition to light cargo capacity it can act as a minor transport as well as carry one small starfighter in the underside of its hull.

Character:

  • "Of course it's not nice--I'M FRAKKING EVIL!" -Syzion losing his cool when facing a particularly mouthy opponent.

  • "What? You think I CARE?" -Syzion to Lady Sagoit before initiating their final duel.

Due to a traumatic trip into adulthood Syzion desires security in the form of order. Indeed, Syzion seeks the ability to control and shape what reality he can to fit his vision--and expunge the parts of this reality that he can't. The Darkside gives Syzion the path to his desired power and he seeks it relentlessly to master it. The Jedi Order is the bane of Syzion's vision and he also relentlessly seeks after it--to destroy it.

For Syzion, power is everything because without power you can't attain anything more than what you have--and even that can then be taken away! Power, then, is life for Syzion: it's the food on your plate to defeat hunger, it's the clothes on your back to defeat the cold, it's the lightsabers on your belt that defeat slavery and death and, in the later words of Palpatine, "Power is Joy."

Despite being a somewhat sympathetic character Syzion will casually disregard arbitrary concepts like "fairness" and "honor" and "bravery" if that's what it takes to win. And while the Sith Lord dislikes being unnecessarily destructive (Syzion won't arbitrarily slaughter civilians or children since they can be useful to the Empire) if Syzion has to destroy a ship, a city, a space station, or a world to complete his orders, he will do so. Syzion will even go so far as to sacrifice his own gear/equipment if need be to finish his opponent off--that's just how ingrained his master's mental programming is.

If orders allow, however, Syzion will flee if his life is in danger.

As a leader, Syzion practices his vision of order ruthlessly. In Syzion's world-view troops are tools, and neither "treasure to be held in safety" nor "trash to be discarded". As such he expects total obedience from those under his command as he would any other tool: crediting them with their successes and punishing their failures. In the alternative, Syzion takes the credit for victories while accepting total responsibility for defeats. For this Syzion is regarded by Sith troops he leads as harsh, but fair.

With his new-found "liberation" in the throes of the Darkside, Syzion has two emotional settings with no in-between: a casualness of elated mischief, and a cold, unbending rage.

Battle Tactics:

Syzion uses a medpac after clearing out a Republic outpost. His damaged gear lays discarded, and his hair and eye color shift in the afterglow of a reactor explosion.

  • "I don't want a fair fight, I want a realistic one." -Syzion, on warfare.

Land or space, Syzion's strategy is the same: unless Syzion is caught off-guard or is defending his position from attack he will lead an armed force outnumbering the opponent at least 3-to-1.

Once engaged in battle, Syzion uses the general fear of Force Users to his advantage: Syzion's opening tactic is to engage the bulk of the enemy forces by himself with a torrent of brutal violence and Force techniques. While Syzion engages the enemy, the troops under his command are held in reserve. Once the opportunity presents itself Syzion's forces in waiting deploy to engage the enemy forces elsewhere on the battlefield where they are caught off-balance by the sudden appearance of a new wave of relentless attackers.

Attack or defense, Syzion prefers to separate himself from his forces as not only does he get to engage in ruthless violence without harming his troops, but also in that Syzion's Force-caused carnage misdirects the enemy to focus on him while Syzion's troops clandestinely perform the mission at hand.

Syzion also prefers to be separated from his troops as they are free to use heavy munitions on the enemy ranks without killing him.

While being the anvil on which his troops ruthlessly beat the enemy leads Syzion to victory, this reckless strategy also exposes Syzion to a big degree of physical harm and leaves most of Syzion's starships, weapons, and other personal equipment as little better then slag.

Family (and Family Friends):

Beliefs:

Regardless of his other beliefs, Syzion's primary belief is in his own survival secured through increased personal power.

Views on Politics:

  • "You wouldn't take a vote on whether you wanted a doctor or a moisture farmer to operate on you--you'd get a doctor, and the best damned one you could find! If you wouldn't trust your health to a farmer and wanted a doctor instead, why would you trust the fate of your world to a professional liar and not want a leader instead?" -Syzion, on democracy.

Syzion is apathetic, if not openly hostile, towards representative government. Believing that the centralization of power is the sole principle for a good society, Syzion holds beliefs similar to that of the later New Order--However, like the Fel Empire Syzion is neither sexist nor prejudiced against aliens, preferring that a sentient's (lack of) power be the measure of that individual's worth(lessness).

Syzion is outright enthralled by the Sith Empire's devotion to to power itself, and emboldened by the Sith Empire's rejection of the political left and right--which Syzion views as false distinctions. Syzion is assured of the Sith Council and its ruler-ship methods as well as the Sith Empire's guiding leadership principles. As such, Syzion is an avid supporter of the Sith Empire's regime regardless of the Sith's Force practices.

Views on the Force:

Syzion using the Force, from the point of view of an enemy Force User. For Syzion, twisting the Force or using it for his ends are acceptable. Weakness is the only sin--and death the only penance.

  • "I grew up believing in deities in the sky, daemons in the dirt, and in saying prayers for the bugs I squished... An' ya know what? That STILL makes more sense to me than the trash the Jedi will feed you. I want the truth behind The Mystery--no matter what it turns out to be. I want it real and I want it inside me so I never lose it." -Syzion, regarding The Force.

Syzion's Force beliefs stem from the last line of the Sith Code, which reads: "The Force Shall Free Me."

Under Syzion's understanding of the code, victory is what proves a Sith Lord has a true understanding and mastery of the Force, not doctrine or dogmas. Victory breaks a Sith's chains and grants freedom, states the code. Victory is a result of action, not inaction; thus deeds, not words, are what brings true spiritual power in the Force, according to Syzion's understanding of the code. As such, victory thus gives the Sith Empire in general and any one Sith Lord in particular the qualifications and the right to say what the truth is as far as Syzion is concerned.

Thus while Syzion is nominally a member of the Sith, his observance of any one Sith Lord's interpretation or view of the Force is based solely on whether that Sith Lord can stand up to him in terms of power.

If a Sith Lord can stand up to Syzion and meet or surpass his power, then there is something Syzion must learn from that individual. If not, then Syzion has but to slay the weakling and assume control of the now-deceased's forces.

Goals/Ambitions:

After seeing the fate of the spirit of Lady Sagoit, Syzion has only one major ambition: immortality, as a ghost if need be. For this reason, Syzion is particularly interested in any Gen'Dai he comes across.

If (Once) he becomes immortal, Syzion may or may not expand his influence as a Sith Lord in his own right. Syzion "[has]n't decided [on that] yet".

Quotes:

  • "If it's worth doing, it's worth over-doing."
  • "You gotta be frakking KIDDING ME!" (when the reason for the bad feeling shows itself)
  • "You believe in words, I believe in results."
  • "Soldiers are neither treasure to be held in safety, nor are they trash to be discarded. They are your primary tool for victory, and should be treated as such."
  • "Once I'm immortal I'll rule the galaxy... Or run a Pazaak club on an ocean world. I haven't decided yet." (Syzion being flippant towards Darth Slayeus upon demanding details of Syzion's motives)
  • "You're calling yourself DARTH now? Stang man, there are easier ways to commit suicide."
  • "Don't promise me the pie the durni ate." (Corelliansaying from Talus)
  • "Liberation from weakness: THAT is the gift of the Darkside."
  • "Send you to the Force? I'LL SEND YOU TO HELL!"

Motto:

Syzion's motto, "Truth in Ashes," is written beneath his seal in Sith Prophetic script, and refers to Syzion's belief that truth is found in the aftermath of victory.
