Life Before The Academy

"You must let him go... if not now then surely later. He will be well taken care of. He will get to travel all over the galexy and see things we could never show him. I do not know how but something is telling me he will be ok.. he is destined for great things." Thateous' Father to his Mother.

Thateous was born into a wealthy family on Coruscant. His father was a diplomat for Glee Anselm and his mother was a respectable figure who always stood behind her husband. Knowing of the Jedi's tendency to take force sensitive infants, and fearing her own child would be taken, she hired a friend as a midwife and gave birth in the privacy of her home. When Thateous was born his mother spent all of her time nurturing him while his father was tending to the never ending tasks of a diplomat. When Thateous reached the age of five his mother thought he was too old to be taken by the Jedi so she started taking him out with her on errands.

One day while Thateous was out with his mother doing routine errands a strange sensation tingled up his spine. Untrained and inexpreienced in the ways of the force he could not know of the danger lurking behind him. They were being followed. Apparently Thateous' father had made enemies with some thugs for speaking out against their recent activity on Glee Anselm. Half way across the galaxy Thateous' father had been "dealt with" and all that remained were the other two family members. A sudden impact on the back of Thateous' head filled him with a rush of pain followed by blackness. When he awoke he was being held by a middle-aged man in a brown robe. He carried no memories of his past beyond his name. The Jedi sensed force dwelling within Thateous and decided to allow him to train in the ways of the force.

Early Years in the Academy

As an Initiate Thateous excelled in Teräs Käsi. Even though he struggled with the simplist of force powers he more than made up for during practice duels. While other Intiates were practicing there newly learned force powers Thateous was always found in the practice room perfecting his technique. When practice lightsabers where issued Thateous proved unequal in combat. Favoring two lightsabers and a Makashi and Ataru mixed fighting style many of his oppenents were kept on their heels forcing them to stay on the defensive. As Thateous became increasingly skilled in his dueling prowess he quickly became the envy of his peers and even some of the older students.

As whispers of the upcoming Apprentice Tournament started to fill the Temple Thateous couldn't help but notice the the glares from other students. Stares that harbored ambitions of defeating Thateous or witnessing the one that did. Stares that only brought a sly smile on his thin blue lips. Dueling was the only place Thateous felt comfortable and his strongest connection with the force. Just by observing Thateous outside the practice room one would be ill pressed to come to such a conclusion. Favouring a lightsaber where many prefered the use of their force powers and being one of the few nautolan he had ever seen he felt he had little in common with other students. Thateous was always quite and spoke as few words as necesary to get a point accross. If not training he could always be found meditating in the garden. He was never one to make friends always keeping to himself. He thought himself too diffrent from the other students.

Jedi Temple Apprentice Tournament

As the tournament grew closer Thateous could not help but feel a little excited. He had been spening alot of time in the practice room honing his skills. Those that witnessed his determination did not feel so ambitious as they had did at the first mentioning of the tournament. Thateous spent an unbelievable amount of time practicing, only stopping when absolutely necessary. After all the practice room was like his second home, in close second with the Temple Garden, plus he had a few new tricks he was saving just for the tournament. He came across them while studying in the library. Force Armor for those he new would try to use their expertise in force power to best the duelist and Force Revitalize so he would be able to continue his relentless offensive without tireing, a very powerful ace to hold.

As Thateous entered the arena he could not help but be a little surprised at the number people attending. He did not know that the tournament was used as a way for masters to select their new apprentices. Sensing the strong emotions pouring out of the participants next to him he knew that everyone was using this event to make a name for themselves in the Temple. Thateous never cared much for titles or popularity he only sought to better himself in anyway he could.

The start of the tournament played out pretty uneventful with expected winners coming out on top. Thateous' early matches didnt last long enough for the audience to have time to enjoy it but that changed as they neared the quater and semi final matches. Thateous bested his quater finals opponent with a few dangerous feints and parrys followed by quick rythmical thrusts.

Someone to Call Master

Leyasu was just back from a mission when he crossed path with an old Jedi Librarian friend. The subject of the tournament soon came up and one individual in particular. The only Nautolan Jedi of his youngling clan who spent most of his time in the library reading explained the librarian to Leyasu. This reminded Leyasu of himself he was the only Kel Dor in his youngling clan and he could not help but be intrigued. The two Jedi decided to attend the tournament as the opening ceremony started Leyasu was shocked it looked like the Young Thateous planned on using Jar Kai with two lightsabers clipped to his hip. It was obvious that this was the one to watch in this tournament. although his skill was unmatched in the tournament his knowledge and use of the force was somewhat lacking. Leaysu knew with proper guidance Thateous would become a great Jedi. After the competition Thateous was left champion standing but Leyasu did not stay to watch the whole event. He was in council chamber as he asked to take Thateous as his apprentice. His request was denied at first but with a little convincing Leyasu was able to persuade the council to change there minds. Afterwards when Thateous came back from the tournament Leyasu was standing in Thateous dorm room he told the Padwan to leave anything that belongs to you here our new journey begins. The two Jedi soon took well with one another Thateous was taught Jedi history, and the four aspects of the force along with Form II and a greater understanding of Jar Kai. The first three months the two spent on Courscant a familiar place for both of them. Like Master Amarue, Thateous did not seem to find any Leyasu jokes funny. The two would soon be faced with not laughing matter.

First Strike: A Sith Hunt

"I have always wanted a red lightsaber. Ever since I came upon them while looking through holocrons in the library. I just had to have one." Thateous to Layasu Moor after acquiring a red lightsaber from a slain sith.

After several months on Courscant the two given there first assignment off world. The Great War seemed to be consuming the galaxy and the mission was to go to Chazwa and stop the Sith before they could get a stronghold on this planet it was a popular stop for freighters on the Perlemian Trade route. When the two arrived on the planet all seemed well it seemed that this planet was untouched by the war. After several weeks the Jedi sent a transmission back to Courscant with an all clear. They soon departed the planet but when they reached orbit Thateous cycled a passing moon and went straight back down to the planet surface. Although they were in orbit for a few short hours when they landed the planets surface was almost completely changed . The Sith were in utter control of the planet they hid the ship and landed inside a floating ice glacier. The two soon returned to the capital city with the help of some local smugglers that ran the plan and were not excited about the new Sith overlords. Upon reaching the capital the Jedi along with their smugglers allies invaded the city. The Sith army on the planet had very few force users but did have a three Sith marauders. The smugglers launched a devastating aerial attack on the Sith ground forces. While the JedI assaulted the capital building heading for the Sith leaders. Thateous saber skill was soon put to the test that he passed with minimal effort. The last Sith Marauder was able to escape but a relative peace was brought back to the planet. After the battle was won the planet had some reconstructing to do the locals wanted to leave no evidence of the Sith behind one piece of evidence was a red lightsaber. Thateous wanted the saber Master Leyasu although reluctant stating that personal desire was not the way of a Jedi. He also knew that Thateous would be a more complete Jedi when using Jar Kai and Thateous took the saber as his own.
